Zona Arqueológica Soledad de Maciel o Xihuacan - An accredited guide will accompany visitors through the Xihuacan Museum, providing explanations of the artifacts, decorative items, stones, and bones on display.
At the Ball Court, the guide will explain the connection between the community, the ball ceremony, and their polytheistic religion.
At the pyramid, there will be a discussion about its architecture, the materials used in its construction, and the reasons for its specific location.
Visitors will be driven to the Xihuacan Main Square, where the government has recently commenced excavation.
Following the visit to the Xihuacan Ceremonial Center, guests will be taken to the Soledad de Maciel Village, just 7 minutes away. In the village, they can visit and photograph the first archaeological monolith discovered in the community.
The next stop will be at a local house in the village to learn about the culture and lifestyle in the rural areas along the Guerrero coastline. The town is now known for its tobacco and tropical fruit agriculture, offering visitors the opportunity to purchase a tobacco cigar and/or clay replicas of the museum’s artifacts.
After the village visit, guests will enjoy lunch in the countryside at a restaurant, featuring a fresh and authentic Mexican meal with options such as:
• Grilled, breaded, or fajita-style chicken.
• Grilled, breaded, or garlic sauce fish.
• Garlic sauce or breaded shrimp.
All meals are served with guacamole & chips, a sope, handmade tortillas, beans, and salsa, accompanied by a beer or soft drink.
After lunch, guests will be transported back to their hotel.
