  • Los Olivos neighborhood - We visit the property where the drug lord died, several conclusions, lessons and opportunities are presented, we explain the horizons and scope of both public policies and drug trafficking, including the legacy of this infamous being
  • Comuna13 - This is the best way to end this tour since you’ll contrast the outcomes of Medellin’s city hall social investment and the dark days. Each graffiti has a special meaning, and it all starts as a means of urban expression, relief, and above all as a form of inclusion. This is a space where we interact with the community and endorse the development and positive changes of the city

A day not to be missed... - Cesar was an exceptional guide on all levels - punctual, fluent English, generous with his time and extremely knowledgeable. We booked this tour based on previous good reviews and were beyond delighted. Cesar has extensive knowledge of Medellin and its evolution from the terror of the 1980's to its reinvention through education and art today. He has the ear of the Medellin locals and is actively involved in the rejunivation of the city, particularly with its youth. This is not a tour to be missed with an excellent guide to get beneath the superficial and understand the real Medellin.

Learning of Medellin's brutal history - I did this tour with Cesar from discovering Medellin. It was an eye-opener and insight into how negatively the world's most notorious narco-trafficker impacted those people in his own community. This tour is meant to glamourise Pablo Escobar or favour him. It is intended to focus on the pain he caused and the victims he left behind. The final stop on the tour is the memorial to the 46,612 people who were killed by Escobar's bombs and greed. This parc is a place of reflection and grieving. As Cesar pointed out, people still come to the park to pay tribute to their lost loved ones. A slight distraction from the notorious drug dealer is a stop at Communa 13, which is a favela neighbourhood that transforms in the daytime into a collective space for artists, fashion designers, dancers, and musicians. It provides a glimpse into what it means to be from the barrio and is the only one that welcomes visitors during the day. I highly recommend having Cesar take you on this tour because his connection provides an intimate look into Medellin's violent past.

Unbelievable tour and insight into Medellin's past - I had the pleasure of doing this tour with Cesar on a Saturday. I am glad I chose to go with this company because the tour was private, insightful, and provided an unprecedented view of Pablo Escobar's impact on Medellin. Cesar provided great anecdotes drawn from personal experiences. The tour does not only focus on Escobar, it includes a trip to Communa 13, once a notorious neighbourhood and now a collective for artists, dancers, musicians, and more. The great part about this tour is that it is meant to confront Medellin's violent past and not glorify it. The immense animosity the people have for him is perfectly encapsulated on the last stop of the tour at Parque Memorial Inflexion dedicated to the tens of thousands of innocent victims of the drug wars.
