A fun and authentic cooking experience! - If you’re in Sestri Levante, do yourself a favor and eat at Trattoria da Turin — you won’t want to go anywhere else! I loved it so much that I ate there every single day during the week I attended language classes in town. The food is absolutely incredible — homemade pasta that melts in your mouth and soups that taste like they came straight from your Nonna’s kitchen. Everything feels authentic, fresh and prepared with love. But what really sets this place apart is the owner, Fabio. He goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. He even arranged an unforgettable pasta-making class for my friends and me. We also added a pesto-making class so we could have the full Ligurian experience. It was hands-on, so much fun, and of course, the food we made was out of this world! Whether you’re looking for a cozy dinner spot, an authentic Italian culinary adventure or simply the warm feeling of being treated like family, Trattoria da Turin is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

Fun and Fabulous "Pasta Experience" - (Let me begin by saying that this was the "Pasta Experience" at Turin in Sestri Levante and not the "Pesto Experience." The "Pasta Experience" is new to Turin and sites aren't yet updated to reflect this new class.) Five stars don't begin to do this experience justice! For almost 2 hours four of us were led by an incredibly talented and fun team in making tagliatelle, taglialini, corsetti, and gnocchi. We mixed the ingredients, kneaded and rolled the doughs, learned how to cut and form the various shapes, and striped our gnocchi, all while sipping a delicious house wine in a friendly, fun, and jovial setting. Fabio and his staff were welcoming, easy-going, informative, and so much fun! One member of our group had begun this class feeling out of his comfort zone, but within minutes was having the time of his life and became a huge fan of Turin, the staff, and the experience. When the pasta lesson was complete we were led to a lovely table outside to sip more wine, chat with the staff, and await the serving of our four freshly cooked pastas with four different house-made sauces. The gnocchi were presented with pesto, the corsetti with a butter-sage sauce, the taglialini with a luscious tomato sauce, and the tagliatelle with salsa di noci (walnut sauce). Each was spectacular! All of this - plus recipes! - was included in the price of the “Pasta Experience.” We were treated like royalty throughout the night, and the experience and price really couldn’t be beat. It’s a must-do, for sure!

A fun and delicious local experience!! - We had a fabulous lunch when we learned about the pasta class. We returned to the pasta class creating 4 types of pasta and learning amidst the laughter and wine. Then we had the pastas with 4 different sauces - each delicious to showcase our pasta. The staff and chef were delightful, patient and very knowledgable. The class was offered in various languages which made it easy for us to understand. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful personalized cooking class - Fabio and his staff were terrific. He worked with us to create a cooking lesson that would capture the flavors of Liguria that our family most wanted to learn. When we arrived, they had a beautiful space, utensils and ingredients prepared for us. We learned from Fabio and his chef about the recipes and local ingredients. We were offered opportunities to taste our creations during the lesson and then enjoyed the complete feast at a prime table of the restaurant afterwards.

Best pesto experience ever! - We went as a family to Sestri Levante to take part in a workshop on making authentic Genoese pesto at the restaurant Il Turin, and it was truly a unique experience. The children had a great time, and besides having so much fun, we learned about the region’s traditions. Fabio, who taught us, was outstanding—extremely patient and very skilled at explaining everything clearly. We definitely recommend it to everyone and are already planning to come back next year to try another workshop.

Amazing pesto! - What an amazing morning. Fabio was so helpful and knowledgeable about pesto. We loved every minute of it and are planning to make our own when home. Fabio also took lots of photos while we made the pesto and sent them after. An added bonus. It was such an enjoyable experience and one of the best on our trip

The real pesto genovese - Great experience at Trattoria de Turin in Sestri Levante where I learned to make real pesto genovese, with the traditional recipe and quality local ingredients. Nothing to do with what you usually eat, just a piece of bread is a delight. Chef Fabio takes the time to explain everything in detail so that he can remake the recipe at home. Utensils are also traditional. A very nice experience!

Exciting pesto course with delicious reward - Great course with good guidance. There were three of us in total, as it had no other guests at 11 o'clock, so we had a good opportunity to ask many questions.
