Highlights
  • Corinth Canal - The Corinth canal was dug through the isthmus at sea level and has no locks. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for many modern ships.
You may enjoy the best view of Corinth’s isthmus and admire The Corinth Canal which connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea.
  • Museum of the Olympic Games - The stadium of Olympia, situated east of the sacred Altis enclosure, was where the ancient Olympic Games and the Heraia, the women’s games in honour of Hera, were held. Before the sixth century BC the running events were held on a flat area along the treasuries’ terrace, east of the great altar of Zeus.
  • Archaeological Site of Olympia - The archaeological site of Olympia includes the sanctuary of Zeus and the many buildings erected around it, such as athletic premises used for the preparation and celebration of the Olympic Games, administrative buildings and other lay buildings and monuments. The Altis, the sacred enclosure and core of the sanctuary, with its temples, cult buildings and treasuries, occupies the centre of the site.

Away from city - Great trip! Andreas, our driver/guide was great. We altered our trip to go to Loutraki and Nafpoli instead of the longer drive to Ancient Olympia. Good choice. This is an all day trip. Beautiful scenery worth the trip away from city.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE - This is advertised as a "private tour" and it is not. It is a ride to Olympia. That is all. Our guide sat in the car during the "private tour" and we were on our own. Plus the ad for the activity said "all fees are included". They are not. Not even the entry fee to Olympia is included in the $307 price! This is an expensive Uber ride, is all it is. For the $613 my wife and I paid, we expected more than just a cab ride to the location. Very disappointed in Viator and I will not use them for tours again. NOT RECOMMENDED!
