Nearby is the Hippodrome, where you can see the Egyptian Obelisk and Serpent Column, once the site of horse chariot races of the Eastern Roman Empire. You will also visit the German Fountain, a gift from Kaiser Wilhelm II, and hear stories of his connection with the Orient.
