Overnight in Istanbul
Hagia Sophia Mosque - The tour begins with a visit to Hagia Sophia, a Late Antique place of worship in Istanbul, designed by Greek geometers Isidore of Miletus and Anthemius of Tralles. Constructed in 537 as the patriarchal cathedral of Constantinople, it was the largest Christian church of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine Empire) and the Eastern Orthodox Church, except during the Latin Empire from 1204 to 1261, when it served as the city’s Latin Catholic cathedral. In 1453, following the Fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Empire, it was converted into a mosque. In 1935, the secular Turkish Republic designated it as a museum. In 2020, it was reopened as a mosque.
Topkapi Palace - Next, the tour visits Topkapi Palace, a large museum located in the eastern part of the Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey. During the 15th and 16th centuries, it was the primary residence and administrative headquarters of the Ottoman sultans.
Blue Mosque - The Sultan Ahmed Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque, is an Ottoman-era historical imperial mosque situated in Istanbul, Turkey. It remains a functioning mosque and is a popular tourist attraction. Constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Ahmed I, its Külliye includes Ahmed’s tomb, a madrasah, and a hospice.
Hippodrome - The Hippodrome of Constantinople is a square in Istanbul, Turkey. Formerly, it was a circus that served as the sporting and social center of Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire.
Grand Bazaar - At the conclusion of the tour, there will be approximately one hour available for shopping.
Jewels of Istanbul: Spice Bazaar, Bosphorus Cruise, Camlica Hill, Pierre Loti Hill
Bosphorus Strait - Travelers will enjoy a boat tour of the Bosphorus Strait for about 1.5 hours. During the tour, they will see additional palaces, mansions, and renowned restaurants along the Bosphorus.
Misir Carsisi (Spice Market) - The Spice Bazaar is one of the largest bazaars in the city. Located in the Eminönü quarter of the Fatih district, it is the most famous covered shopping complex after the Grand Bazaar.
Camlica Hill - As a unique experience, travelers will drive across the Bosphorus to reach Camlica Hill on the Asian side of Istanbul. From there, they can view the Bosphorus, two of the bridges connecting Istanbul’s sides, the Old City of Istanbul, and more.
Pierre Loti Tepesi - A cable car ride offers a stunning view of the Golden Horn from Pierre Loti Hill.
