Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho - We start around 8am from your hotel and drive west from Manaus for about one hour to the Castanho lake where our host will take you by motorized canoe (no cover typical slow amazonian transport) heading to the jungle where we’ll start a 2-3 hours hike to learn about Amazonian fauna and flora, like medicinal plants, jungle survival etc.
We can’t promise you’ll see animals because our jungle is very dense and most of our creatures are small, but we will try to show you as much as Mother Nature allows us.
(for this part of the tour you must wear long pants, closed toed shoes. Bring also a rain coat and insect repellent much needed during our wet season)

Very good experience, well organized, good value 👍 - The transfer to and from the hotel were excellent. The motor boat rides in the Rio Negre and its nooks and crannies offered a lush and up close view of the Amazon Jungle, although we saw little wildlife. Highlights included swimming with the pink dolphins, catching piranhas, the delicious fish lunch, seeing the tarantula, bullet ants and various hardwood trees during the hike. You'll likely get some mud on your shoes. While it wasn't too buggy, you will get bitten if you don't use bug spray.

Some additional info… - You’ll certainly get your money’s worth, and the guides work hard. Some things to consider: The description of a maximum of 12 per tour is not accurate. There are two wooden boats, and if fully packed, each holds 12 guests. So, there are a maximum of 24 guests, and you’re together all day except for the nature hike (best to be in the front group because the wildlife is startled off before the second group arrives) and the time in the boats. Ice cold beer and sodas were available at lunch for 10 reals/$2 USD. Credit cards ok too. Water is supplied in 2 L bottles, so bring a smaller bottle of your own to refill. Lunch was plentiful with chicken and fish etc. The wooden boat seats are HARD. We awoke the next day with serious bruises and blisters. The mosquitos on the hike are EPIC. The guides don’t carry bug spray, and you must have some. A long, full day.

A magical day in the Brazilian rainforest. - The entire experience was great. This company is very professional and efficient, from the information shared by Milton before the trip, to our friendly and knowledgeable driver (Samuel) to our excellent well-instructed hiking guide (Fabio). Fabio was a great guide , very informative and organized. He maintained the order while allowing for an enjoyable walk. Lunch was very good and included many local delicacies like Tambaqui (a delicious fish) and farofa (side dish made with coarse yuca flour and seasonings). A great overall experience. I highly recommend it.

A Day On The River, A Lifetime of Memories - This was an amazing experience to cover many highlights in just one tour. It rained the night prior so pretty wet for our jungle trek so bring a pair of shoes you don’t mind getting really dirty. Our guide was Fabio and he is a master of the river and jungle and you will be impressed with his knowledge and abilities to find sloths hidden in the forest canopy and spot and catch a cayman. My canoe of 7 can’t stop sharing how much we enjoyed this experience.

Highly recommend! - Great hotel pick up service, short boat ride to floating restaurant where they gave us all a 2liter water bottle, then we left for the jungle hike for like 2.5 hours then boat ride back to floating restaurant for yummy lunch, then boat ride to pink dolphins and fishing until sunset, then our guides found a baby alligator and we got to pet it! Beautiful day. It rained halfway through our jungle hike so glad we brought a poncho and rain jackets and tennis shoes. Would do it again!

Excellent day trip. - Very full and interesting day. Everything went smoothly. The car for the transfer was clean and comfortable, the boat was fine and the lunch was OK as well. Highlights were our guide Fabio who was so knowledgeable and made sure we experienced as much as possible; swimming with the pink dolphins and walking in the beautiful rainforest. Would recommend this tour.

Full day in the Amazon - An excellent, and very full, day on the Rio Negro. Forest hike, swimming with pink dolphins, piranha fishing and night time searching for Caiman all successfully completed.
