A whole different world - The guide Andres was excellent and found something new to show every time we went out. The accomodations were basic but comfortable. The food was exceptional, with a lot of a variety and great quality. The lodge is surrounded by villages populated by 'locals', so you are not only learning about their way of life from the guide but seeing it yourself.

This tour is worth it’s weight in gold. - My recent Amazon tour was an unforgettable experience. For anyone seeking an authentic taste of the Amazon, this tour is highly recommended. While it doesn’t venture deep into the Amazon, the tour offers exceptional value. The lodge, the breathtaking scenery, the diverse wildlife, and particularly our guide, George, were all outstanding. George was a standout element of the trip. His extensive knowledge, experience, and kindness made the journey extraordinary. Despite his modesty about his English, he communicated perfectly. George went above and beyond to fulfill all my requests, demonstrating a genuine willingness and eagerness to assist. I am immensely grateful to the lodge and, most importantly, to George. If you’re considering an Amazon tour, this experience is truly worth its weight in gold.

Excellent Amazon River jungle trip - My wife and I spent 4+ days in Iquitos and along the Amazon with Jorge, who works as a guide for Peru Jungle Trips. Pedro, the owner of the company, was very responsive and flexible. He arranged to have us picked up at the airport two days before our trip started, and he had Jorge meet us on our first full day (before leaving on the jungle trip the following day) to show us around Iquitos and the Belen market. The jungle trip itself was super fun and interesting, including local villages, lots of flora and fauna (including spider monkeys, sloths, pink dolphins, and tarantulas), fishing for (and eating!) tiny piranhas, and experiencing the heat and humidity of the amazon. We also really enjoyed the lodge we stayed in -- Luz y Vida. Our only suggestion is that this location on the river is a bit close to Iquitos (maybe 30 km), meaning that population increases, logging and agriculture have had an affect on the old growth forest and the animal population. We didn't see any actually clear cutting or degradation, but Jorge explained that the number of large trees and animal species is lower than in areas that are a bit farther away. For a four day trip, I would recommend that you speak to Pedro and Jorge about going a bit further up or down the river. For two or three days (1 or 2 nights), the area around Luz y Vida is perfect.

Experienced tour guides and a well-coordinated team - I went on a 4-day, 3-night IquitosPeruTour with my friends in mid-April. The whole trip was arranged and the handover was smooth. Thank you very much to our guide Jorge and his team! Jorge is not only responsible and experienced, but also has a wealth of knowledge about the local jungle and wildlife, and can speak fluent English. We like to visit Monkey Island, go fishing, watch the sunset (unfortunately we didn't see the sunrise), and swim in the river. If you can swim, I highly recommend a swim in the river. The water quality is a hundred times better than that of a swimming pool. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are very delicious, and local juices and fruits are also provided. Due to limited local conditions, water and electricity are self-sufficient, and there is usually no WIFI (we are lucky that the accommodation provides WIFI until about 8 pm this time). The local climate is hot and humid, so it is best to bring breathable and easy-to-dry clothes; there are many mosquitoes, so mosquito repellent, anti-itch cream, and sunscreen are must-haves. The locals are simple and most of them speak Spanish.

Amazing Amazon Experience - If you’re looking for a real Amazon jungle experience look no further. My guide Jorge (George) met me at the airport and took me to my hotel. Over a drink we discussed what to expect and what I might need. Next morning he showed me around Iquitos and we shopped for bug spray raincoat and sun protection. Next morning picked me up at my hotel and off we went on a 5 hour cruise down the Amazon ending up at a lovely family run lodge in a tributary of the river. For 4 days we explored the rain forest saw squirrel monkeys sloths tarantulas all in the wild. George is a 30 plus year guide and one of the best human beings you could ask to cross paths with.he seems to know everyone and everything about the jungle fauna and wildlife. We visited small villages sanctuaries we fished and swam and I met incredible people from all walks of life. I highly recommend this trip and am thankful I booked this amazing trip

Unforgettable adventure on the Amazon - Peru Jungle Trip was something we will remember for the rest of our lives. After seeing the markets in Iquitos and a nearby reserve, we embarked down river, far away from the city. Arriving at the lodge an hour or two later we met the family owners and our guide - Jorges - one of the most interesting people we have ever met. In an area with no WiFi to navigate or communicate, Jorges was our eyes, ears and brain! After living in London for a decade his English is better than a lot of people from the UK. Jorge knew absolutely everything about the wildlife and plant life. We felt completely safe cutting through the jungle or paddling through the mangroves. As he searched and found, monkeys, sloths, dolphins, tarantulas, endless beautiful birds and much much more. His passion for life and every living thing in the jungle is food for the soul! The food at the lodge was also a highlight, tasty dishes and catering for a vegetarian. Our advice for anyone thinking about where to explore from Iquitos - book this trip, ask for Jorge and don’t wear black because the mosquitos seem to love it. Muchas gracias y mucha suerte:) J & L

Great adventure in the Amazon - We had the pleasure of taking an Amazonian adventure with Allpayacu, and enjoyed being in the depths of the Amazon Jungle, seeing the wildlife (4 varieties of monkeys, insects, many birds, sloth, pink and grey river dolphins, jungle rat, fish, caiman), the beautiful river, and fantastic sunrise and sunset over the river. We experienced a torrential downpour of rain/ storm which was also unique. The accommodation is basic (as described) - cold showers, flushing toilets, beds with insect screens and electricity between 6-9pm, with the beauty of no internet for the duration of our stay. There were very few insects which surprised and delighted us. We ate our well prepared meals in a communal dining room, where water, tea and coffee were provided. We had a personal guide and boat driver/ guide assistant who were friendly (spoke limited English) and attentive. Be prepared for humidity and activity, balanced with downtime in the middle of the day. An enjoyable and challenging four days! Thank you Allpayacu for our adventure!😊

A once in a lifetime experience! - What a trip! Highly recommend this for a truly authentic and adventurous experience of the Amazon. George was a truly incredible guide, so knowledgable and took me on wild expeditions through mangroves and dense jungle! The food was also delicious - I tried such a variety of dishes - even tried Piranhas! I felt like I was part of the family during my stay. Note, there’s no wifi or air conditioning at the lodge and limited electricity and the accommodation is basic, but you feel at one with nature!
