Great tour to amazing Asjka - We took a great tour during September when most tourists had left. The jeep is comfy and our guide had been just great. Told us many stories about landscape and people, a great personal touch. Will forever remember this tour. Worth the money!

DEFINITELY THE WAY TO GO!! - We wanted to hike at Askja and wer debating weater or not to drive up or do the tour. we have experience driving rough roads and crossing glacial streams in 4x4, but I really didn't want the stress of doing so. Smart move. Here is why: 1) The road is Looooong ( 100km of F-Roads at least) and really rough. This would nopt have been fun 2) Our guide was great, fun and deeply knowledgeable. He was also able to cover that 100+km in less than half the time it would have taken us. (as it was it was 3-4 hours each way to get there.) 2) Super jeep way high, great perspective, and a relatively smooth ride. Relatively..... they are lava fields. 8 people in jeep total. did not feel like a bus or corwded tour. 4)Side stops were great- places I wouldnt have known about, including agreat little rest spot with the best moss soup I've had in Iceland. 5) Askja is amazing-- it was really windy ( 60-70 mph gusts) and some volcanic activity, so no swimming in Viti, but still worth every minute.

Bathing inside Viti - simply the most amazing daytrip! - Highlight after highlight on this daytour! 1. Wonderful views over ragged lavafields and volcanoes 2. Crossing rivers and seeing gorgeous waterfalls 3. Walking through the snowy Askja crater 4. Hiking down the Viti-crater (special muddy experience!) 5. BATHING INSIDE THE VITI CRATER LAKE (WOW!!!!!) and smelling infernal sulfur 6. Seeing the most amazing reflections of the mountains in the Öskjuvatn 7. Driving through a sand desert (close) to the Holuhraun Lavafield and escaping a sandstorm ( :D ) 8. Having the coolest guide ever: Thanks so much Julli! A must-do on an Iceland itinerary! Thanks so much for this amazing day!

Super great experience and guiding - We spent the day at Askja with Geotravel and it was just perfect. Small group, excellent guiding with Siri, beautiful landscapes (lucky with the weather too...). We definitely recommend Geotravel ! Also had the ice cave experience and it was a lovely day, interesting and in a small group as well.

Highlight of Iceland - Be sure you get Hannes as your guide. He is knowledgeable, amicable, and truly professional as a guide. He knows the area inside and out. We thought about driving to Askja on our own. But the insight that Hannes provided was far more valuable than the tires we would have saved!

Excellent trip, 'Luxury' is a stretch - This was an incredible and epic day. It's hard to give it a perfect score though. Here's some constructive feedback: * The total lack of snacks/water provided to the customers was offputting. There was also not too much instruction around how to procure lunches. We arrived at our lodgings at 8pm the day before our tour and were stressing out about how to make this happen. Luckily, our hotel packed some up for us, otherwise I'm not sure what we would have done. This could have been smoother. * There is quite a lot of driving on the tour. Our tour guide, while excellent and friendly and knowledgeable, never put on any music. - or suggested it. There were long periods of driving that were quite exhausting with only the silence. Scenery was quite stunning though. * There were a few occasions where we had come back to the car, really cold, took off all our gear to relax, only to get out of the car within 20 minutes. It was tough to know when to relax and potentially doze off, and when to be ready for another stop. Better communication around what was actually happening from a logistics perspective would have been valued. I hope these constructive feedbacks don't discourage anyone from going. This was a very rare type of excursion, and I have only great things to say about the experience itself. If you're into Iceland Adventure type excursions, this will not disappoint.

Great day! Price/quality can be better. - I would recommend everyone to do such a tour to the highlands. It is really beautiful and you don't want to miss it. However, there were a few things that were a bit disappointing. The guide that was supposed to take us made a mistake in his work schedule and did not show up. Another colleague was therefore called at the last minute to fill in for him. The result was that we took off 40 minutes late. He apologized and of course it’s not the fault of the substitute and things like this can happen, but with such a big delay I would’ve expected a little compensation just as a courtesy, like a 10% discount or sth else. Just a small gesture. Also the guide was continuously calling other people in the car. He excused himself but then continued doing more phone calls. He said it was because he needed to cancel a few things because his day took a turn, but it were numerous phone calls during the day. I just thought that was a bit odd. With the last stop he also didn’t say anything about the place. It felt a bit rushed because our day obviously ended a little bit more late than supposed to. Don’t get me wrong it was a beautiful day. The sun was out, it had snowed 2 days prior, so the landscape looked amazing. The guide was friendly and had nice stories and it was a lovely small group. It was just considering the high price (almost €400 pp - no lunch included) we expect things to be a little more perfect. At least that was our opinion.
