- Bali - Get an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Bali in time to watch the sunrise from the top of Mount Batur. Depart between 1:30 AM and 2:30 AM (depending on the location of your hotel), and then journey towards the active volcano near the village of Kintamani.
- Mount Batur - Upon arrival at Mount Batur, get a short introduction and safety briefing from your guide. All the guides are locals with experience of climbing Mount Batur since they were children. Benefit from their extensive knowledge and passion for the region before you embark on your 1.5-hour trek to the highest volcanic crater in Bali in time to watch the sunrise.
- Lake Batur (Danau Batur) - Upon arrival at the top, enjoy breakfast and take in the amazing views of the surrounding area at the break of day. After sunrise, enjoy some time to walk around the crater of the volcano before crossing a hill of lava and black sand. Trek back down the mountain, and then soothe away your aches and pains at a natural hot spring at 9 AM.

Awesome view and whole day - An excellent trip all round. Our driver Adi communicated with us ahead of time which was important as our place was an unusual pickup. He was very friendly and helpful with excellent spoken and written English. He was right on time for all pickups. The mountain guide and the trek were excellent. Do bring something warm to wear for the time before the sun comes up as it is quite cold. There is a fee to enter the mountain area however as our driver was born in the area they waived this. Hot springs were very pleasant even in hot weather. Adi was very helpful with local knowledge including recommending an incredibly beautifully situated restaurant near the coffee plantation for lunch then some other local beauty spots that were free from tourists, so do try to book Adi if you can as he gave us a great day!
