Highlights
  • Monument Circle - Your tour starts in the heart of Indianapolis - from here in Monument Circle the city radiates outward - a place of soul, history, and culture.
  • Catacombs - What most people don’t know about Indianapolis is that there is a hidden, subterranean world underneath downtown. And while these catacombs never held bodies, they did hold intrigue.
  • Indianapolis City Market - We always promise to point our tours to good snacks along the way and City Market has anything you could desire - from ice cream to tamales, and all from local proprietors.
  • Massachusetts Avenue - The Mass Ave Arts District is home to Indianapolis’ burgeoning cultural renaissance. Stop in the galleries, look at the public art, and enjoy the local street life.
  • Roberts Park Methodist Church - We find that churches and temples hold some of the most interesting stories. Roberts Park is no exception - from its unique architecture that it shares with the chapel of the kings of France - to the congregation of leading citizens.
  • Indiana War Memorial - This city has a rich tradition of honoring veterans and the War Memorials serves as the anchor for that here in Indianapolis.
  • Depew Memorial Fountain - Frolicking nymphs, fish, and a civic-minded doctor create a tranquil respite in the heart of the city.
  • Indiana State Capitol - Government powers much of Indianapolis, and all three branches of the Indiana government still operate out of this building.
  • Indianapolis Cultural Trail - We’re only making a pit stop on the Cultural Trail, but come back and walk it to visit the museums and sites of the city - from the NCAA, world-famous Children’s Museum, and zoo.
  • Indiana Repertory Theatre - Arguably the most elaborate building in the city, this theater was once aa movie house and today houses the major productions and musicals that draw people downtown.
  • Indianapolis Artsgarden - Seven story glass dome suspended over the street? Housing hundreds of performances, lectures, and exhibits annually? In a shopping mall? Yes, yes, yes.

Made Walking Around Easy and Fun - My husband and I loved it! We aren't frequent travelers so we weren't sure how comfortable we'd be trying to navigate our way around the city. I'm so glad I found this! The directions were clear and the info about each stop was interesting. Definitely recommend!

Downtown Indy Walking Tour - We had a great time exploring downtown Indy! It’s a beautiful city with a lot of history. It was an interesting and fun excursion. I will say that it took us over 3 hours, but we found some beautiful places that we wanted to further explore.

A good and informative tour, but maybe not worth the price - Our family really enjoyed the things we saw on the tour. We would add a couple of other aspects (e.g. Peyton Manning statue, canal walk) and maybe would propose extending the tour a bit by including more exploration of the stops. I would say for what you get from the tour the price seemed a bit steep. It would be extremely easy and a nice touch to add audio recordings of the text that is already there...perhaps some addresses and/or pictures of the destinations so it's clear where you are walking. Mostly it was clear but at times some additional support would have been helpful.

Indianapolis walking tour - I enjoyed seeing the sites, exploring, and learning new things about Indianapolis. The tour kept signing me out while I was exploring and the only part I didn’t like was having to re login so many times. Was a nice trek and I enjoyed it!

Downtown Indianapolis Tour - Great walk that hits the highlights of downtown. Information is relevant. Directions are easy to follow. My only issues were that it is a little pricey for the amount of information revealed.

September visit - I expected to be able to send the walking tour to each member of the group since I needed to register them with email. That didn’t happen so we had to read aloud at each stop. I would also say the instructions for accessing the information could have been clearer. Access was sent to me by Ted, but you could not re-enter the program from the text - needed to find it in email

Fun in Indy! - Kiddos were bouncing off the walls and this was a great fun afternoon for us - they liked the questions and had never really been downtown. Probably good for 3rd grade and up? Any younger and might get bored, I had to read the stories and make them fun for the kiddos.

Not great - I thought it was audio-guided - wrong. It’s text on your phone at each stop. That’s an awkward scenario: stopping and reading your phone in an unfamiliar city. It could have been more descriptive. They also didn’t give answers to the questions, unless the answers are basically hidden (I couldn’t find them). Overall, not great.

Terrible experience. Consistently getting logged off. - GPS location not accurate. Hints and clues were vague. A paper map would’ve been better because maps have pictures. 6 hours of trying. Google maps didn’t quite line up with the page’s’ descriptions. Constantly getting logged out. Two others in our group we’re getting logged out too. Absolutely terrible experience. Certainly tainted my trust in TripAdvisor and Viator. After trying several attempts, we ended up wandering around. Convention center had maps and guides that were free and much more useful.
