- Saptakoteshwar Temple - This visit includes one of the most esteemed Lord Shiva temples in the Konkan region. This form of Shiva was the principal deity of the Kadamba dynasty’s kings in the 12th century. Our archaeologist will vividly recount the 14th-century events when the Bahmani Sultan destroyed the temple, and the Vijayanagara Kings later defeated the Sultan, restoring the temple to its former splendor. Additional stories will reveal how the Shiva Lingam survived the Portuguese’s destruction.
