A Wonderful Bread-Making Experience! 🍞 - Really enjoyed this bread-making experience. Simple, hands-on, and so satisfying to make our own bread. The paninis we made were delicious!

Excellent experience. - We did 2 experiences with Soul Travelling during this trip to Goa in May, and thoroughly enjoyed both - the Goan Hinterland and Life of Pao. The itineraries are thoughtfully designed to let you learn a little about Goan history and incorporate it into the story of those experiences while interacting with locals who are preserving traditions of Goa. The ambassadors are knowledgeable and passionate about their work, answering questions and ensuring we are well looked after during the experience.

A delicious bread making experience - The experience was amazing. Totally different from the usual goa things what we do. We made our own bread and panini and both tasted delicious. Highly recommend to anyone who likes to explore different version of a south goa trip.

"Breaking Bread in Majorda – A Delicious Dive into Goan Traditions!" - We had a truly wonderful experience learning to make traditional Goan bread in a charming old bakery in Majorda, guided by our lovely host Tavanya. Her warmth and knowledge made the experience extra special. We were introduced to an elderly gentleman who shared stories about his family's long-standing baking heritage, which added a personal and heartfelt touch to the tour. We even got hands-on experience making our own Pao and Loni, while learning about the various types of Goan bread and their cultural significance. The tour ended on a high note with us tasting the delicious handmade bread fresh from the oven. Thank you, Soul Travelling, for curating such a rich and wholesome experience—an absolute must-try in South Goa!

Wonderful - Truly worth every penny! Never saw goa through this lens. The guides Tavanya and Dhruti explained everything exceptionally well, starting from the history of Goa, to the various tyoes of bread and ending the tour with an amazing surprise. We drove all the way from Baga to Majorda for this experience in heavy rains, and I must say i dont regret it even a bit!

Nostalgia of Goan bread making - The experience involved visiting Majorda, an iconic rural village known for its mud houses, lush coconut trees, ancient roads, and railway station that transports you back to 1960s Goa. My guide Tavanya welcomed us warmly and introduced us to Mr Godinho, a local Goan baker who has preserved the art of Goan bread making for generations in his family. The experience entailed observing bread production, using an authentic Goan clay and mud-based wood-fired oven, and creating your own tasty bread. This was followed by delicious lime soda and sandwiches. I highly recommend this experience for those interested in the Goan art of bread making and culinary enlightenment.

Life of Pao - Life of Pao (POI) was such a beautiful, slow, and soulful experience. Tavanya is a wonderful host; her deep love for food history made us sit up, listen, and truly reflect. It turned a hot summer day into one of the sweetest memories I’ll hold on to. I especially loved how intimate the gathering was, fewer folks, more time for immersion, and meaningful conversations. I’ve passed by Majorda so many times, but this experience made it feel special — now I’ll always carry a memory of it.

A Refined Taste of Goan Tradition - Tucked away in Majorda, this bread-making experience was the quiet cultural escape I didn’t know I needed. We met Mr. Godinho, a third-generation baker who still uses toddy to ferment his poi, an age-old technique that adds depth to both flavor and history. There was something grounding about working the dough by hand, surrounded by stories, firewood, and a sense of legacy. The afternoon ended at Da Tita with a freshly baked panini a simple but memorable meal that brought everything full circle. Our guide, Ms. Tavanya Coutinho, was the heart of the experience. Warm, articulate, and deeply knowledgeable, she effortlessly wove history, local anecdotes, and her own love for Goan culture into every part of the afternoon. If you’re looking for something authentic and intimate, far from the usual tourist checklist, this is it. A beautiful blend of culture, craft, and carbs.
