Into the Heart of the Middle Atlas

As the day drew to a close, Nasser surprised us with a detour back in Fes. He took us to the Royal Palace, its golden gates gleaming in the fading light, and then to a panoramic viewpoint that offered a breathtaking view over the old city. The sight of the sun setting over the ancient medina was a fitting end to a day filled with discovery and adventure.

But the surprises didn’t end there. Our final stop was a ceramics cooperative, where we witnessed the artistry and craftsmanship that goes into creating the beautiful pottery for which Fes is renowned. Watching the artisans at work, their hands deftly shaping clay into intricate designs, was a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that permeates every corner of this incredible country.
