For lovers of literature - I really liked the museum, there are rooms dedicated to Joyce, but also many about different Irish writers and a room dedicated to temporary exhibitions.

Quaint museum, excellent staff - This is such a quaint little museum, we found a lovely employee who was incredibly passionate about Joyce’s work and made the museum an even better experience by providing more personal context on what we were looking at. Total happy accident, I hope others get to have the same experience we did. Thank you, Anne!

A must for the reader/writer in the group! - If you're a bookworm or a writer or traveling with one, add this to your itinerary. Or if you're a fan of James Joyce. (They have his own original copy of Ulysses.) we did the literary tour with a guide and she was great but you can just walk around as well. It's interactive, lots of Irish writers you can listen to along the way. Also a section on book-banning and black listing of authors in 20th century and how they combatted that. Took pics there, no sense reinventing the wheel. I'd say kids age 5-6+ would enjoy it too, they have a kids' book section. Beautiful garden out back that leads to a mysteriously secret park, perfect for a stroll or some playtime afterwards.

Great Literary Experience - The museum is amazing, not just with the copies of the writings but the recordings of the writers being performed. The James Joyce exhibit especially is like Irish soul food for the ears.

Not recommended - This was sadly a huge disappointment. It is quite new and appears to have replaced the superior Dublin writers museum. It is far too small and contrary to being about irish literature, is really all about James Joyce.
