A perfect ride - Perfect - lovely, well trained horses, friendly and skilled guides, excellent service and a very cosy place.

A must in Iceland. - Beautiful experience during this activity. From pickup to getting to the horse ranch. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful family members. I was fitted for my helmet and you could borrow gloves, hard or clothing gear to wear to keep warm. I was matched with a soft, warm, gentle horse since I was inexperienced. The horses were beautiful. The scenery was beautiful and majestic during the ride. This was my 2nd time during horseback riding while on vacation the guides were helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. I had an amazing experience.

What a wonderful experience! - The designated pickup was convenient and on time (even a few minutes early). The farm is very tidy and well-managed. They provided equipment that made the experience comfortable and safe. They chose horses consistent with our experience level (which was little to none). The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and paced things according to our comfort level, respecting the lowest common denominator (though we were pretty much all on the same page). Afterward, there was time to relax - we were not rushed out. I highly recommend Laxnes Horse Farm!

Fantastic day! - Brilliant day, the horses are in great condition & obviously well cared for, the trek we went on was so picturesque & beautiful, we went through a stream into stunning countryside, the staff at the farm were really friendly, all in all a lovely memory, highly recommended! Icelandic horseback riding at its best! - We went horseback riding on April 3, 2024. It was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The horses were so sweet and are obviously very well loved and cared for by the family. They provide warm insulated coveralls, buffs, gloves/mittens and riding helmets. They can accommodate any level of riding skill and will match you with the perfect horse. The meandering ride through the countryside and crossing over the icy mountain rivers was really lovely. The included pick up and drop off at our hotel was prompt. The hot chocolate and pastry that they offered after the ride was a very generous and much appreciated touch. If you dream of going horseback riding in Iceland then this is the tour to book!

Great ride - Sweet fuzzy horses. Great owner. Very nice experience. Provided overalls and helmets. Made sure we were geared up for the cold weather. Would happily do this again.

Good but a mishap - My sister is an avid horseback rider so this was on her bucket list. The driver (I think the owner’s son) was punctual and extremely friendly. My mother and I had no experience but thought we would be okay because the horses are so friendly. We were doing just fine until they split the group between those who wanted to go faster and those who wanted to walk. The guide who stayed with my mom & I “Christian” was having trouble handling his/our horses when the fast group left. I asked him if he was sure the horses are okay, they seemed ansy. The moment he let them go they both bolted.. I managed to hold on while being terrified, my mom fell and broke two ribs. After this, the owner and son were extremely attentive and caring and showed great concern for my mother and offered to help in any way they could. Christian however did not even help my mother off the ground after her fall, nor did he ask her how she was doing back at the barn. If Christian was unsure of how the horses would react when released, he shouldn’t have. He jeopardized our safety. Would have been a great day if not for this mishap.
