  • Bridge Between Continents - Here you can actually walk between two continents where the Eurasian plate and the North American plate are drifting apart. The bridge is a symbol of the connection between Europe and North America.
  • Blue Lagoon - the Blue Lagoon is located in about 800 years old lava field in the heart of the Reykjanes Peninsula. You must book your ticket yourself since it is very popular. It is wonderful to relax in the lagoon despite of the weather.
  • Gunnuhver Hot Springs - Gunnuhver is a hot spring named after a ghost.
  • Brimketill - Brimketill is probably the only place where you might want bad weather with a lot of wind, to see the waves break on Brimketil llava cliff
  • Hafnarfjordur - Hafnarfjörður is the 3rd largest town in Iceland. It is often referred to as the town of the hidden people. It is nice to explore the town by food, walk along the harbour checking out the museum, local artists that are located around the harbour.

Additional Information

Located on the Reyknanes Peninsula is our globe-crossing airport, yet many of our guests head directly into the city, missing the wondrous experience of our country’s youngest region. This remarkable location offers the unique opportunity to literally walk between North America and Europe over a bridge spanning a geographical rift. The island’s split begins right here and the renowned Blue Lagoon is an ideal stop during your exploration.

We will pay a visit to Gunnuhver, Brimketill, and the Reykjanesviti lighthouse, where the Atlantic ridge emerges from the sea. A pit-stop at the quaint village of Grindavík, a community that has relied on fishing for generations is also quite enjoyable.

Par for the course is a return journey through Hafnarfjörður, famously known as the dwelling of concealed beings. A lively Viking festival, complete with traditional Nordic country attendees clad in Viking attire, becomes the focal point of this charming township during the balmy summer months.

Very nice tour - Inga was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. She made sure we were comfortable in every way, and taught us a lot about the area.

Great tour, great guide - This was the best tour of my three in Iceland. I was picked up promptly in a smart brand new electric van. The guide was incredibly charming and knowledgeable and we accomplished so much in the time (a bit longer than scheduled, but really worth it) stopping at additional places not on the itinerary. As a private tour it is very flexible and it was nice that this enabled us to hike more than one can do on a group trip and get to see more things and get better vantage points. The Reykjanes Peninsula is incredibly interesting - you get to see so much, and so much more in a shorter time than say the Golden Circle. We hiked to the end of the lava flow from last September, various cliff/bird locations, hot springs, lakes, local villages, bridge between the continents, Blue Lagoon etc. Would highly recommend and use again myself on a future visit.

Superb guide and tour - Really superb tour. The best of my three tours; the guide was really excellent, charming and knowledgeable. We saw so much and he knew all the right spots to visit and we did so much in the time. The Reykjanes peninsula seems a bit underrated compared to other more obvious longer trips, but here you will see everything including close up to a recent lava field, springs, cliffs with incredible bird life, small geysers, waterfalls etc. Lots of stops, plenty of time. Highly recommended.
