Highlights
  • Southern Region - On this Northern Lights tour, we leave the city lights of Reykjavik behind and head into the darkness to maximize our chances of seeing the Aurora borealis in all its glory!

Your guide and professional photographer will setup the camera gear and start preparing for photo shoot with guests and then later on he will setup table with hot chocolate and snacks for everyone to enjoy.

On the search for the northern lights, we might travel through some of Iceland’s most spectacular natural sights without knowing but your guide is sure to let you know along the way.

Your tour guide will aim for the spots away from the city with the highest change of seeing the northern lights on the particular night.

We schedule each unique tour in a strategic location depending on the weather, cloud cover and geomagnetic forecasts

Best Northern Lights Tour in Iceland - We had the most incredible night on our Northern Lights tour with Heimir. He took us to a spot off the beaten path. We were the only group there and got a magnificent show of the lights for about 2 hours. He had chairs for us, warm body suits and a delicious assortment of Icelandic snacks and hot chocolate. He showed us how to take photos with our phones and also took pictures of us with his professional camera. As we were pulling away for the night the lights came out again so Heimir pulled back in and we got off the bus quickly for another display. Then again, about half way back to the city, he saw another display and pulled up onto a hillside for a grand finale. He really knows what he’s doing and was a very gracious and kind guide. I would recommend this company over and over again!

ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE - Heimir was an amazing guide who went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a special trip. The conditions were great and I got to see the northern lights on my first night in Iceland, an experience I’ll never forget. He set up chairs, had iPhone stands, snacks and hot chocolate for us to enjoy as well. You could freely take breaks to warm up in the van. It was 11/10 experience I would definitely go again. Amazing northern lights - Heimir, went out of his way to ensure we had a great northern lights experience. Great skills and attributes: confidence, clear communication, empathy, energetic nature, humour, improvisation, knowledge, passion, research, and storytelling. Took fantastic backup photos Thanks Susan (Australia)

I cannot find enough... - I cannot find enough superlatives to express the outstanding experience we had with our guide and photographer, Heimir. His genuine care and dedication were evident throughout our experience. The photos we received were nothing short of EPIC, capturing the essence of our Northern Lights adventure in a way we could never have imagined. This tour surpassed our expectations with its exceptional quality and Heimir's remarkable talent and professionalism.

The ultimate Northern Lights experience - This was a small group tour with the same attention to detail you would receive if your family organised it for you. From careful scheduling to ensure the best chance of seeing the lights, pickup directly at hotel, taking a personal interest in the small group of guests, selecting the best location for viewing and to minimise wind chill, traditional Icelandic snacks and drinks, chairs and snowsuits, Heimir really does provide the ultimate Northern Lights experience. More expensive than the big coach company tours but worth it for the personal treatment and experience. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Unforgettable tour - Heimir was an amazing tour guide. He was honest about expectations and the forecast. Pick up and drop off went smoothly (directly outside our hotel). Heimir provided interesting facts, was very likeable and friendly. The warm jumpsuits, chairs and Icelandic snacks (hot choc, pastries and chocolates) were a thoughtful added bonus. We were lucky and caught the amazing Aurora and Heimir was very accommodating to us with taking photos with his professional camera with the pictures being shared with us the next day via Dropbox. Heimir was happy to allow us to take the lead with when we wanted the tour to end (within reason) as the light’s activity became stronger as the night went on (11pm - 1am). We would recommend this tour to everyone!

Great tour company!! - Unfortunately our tour got cancelled due to the weather. I rate this tour at 5 stars due to the fact that the tour operators and administrators were prompt to respond and communicated very well about the weather cancellation and refunding our money promptly. If every we have the oppertunity to visit Iceland again (this was our 2nd time) I would book this tour again to try and see the Northern Lights.

Don’t book with one vehicle operators - We booked this for the first night of our stay as we wanted to give ourselves the best opportunity to see the northern lights - which was just as well. The tour was cancelled due to poor weather reducing the opportunity to see the northern lights so we were given the opportunity to rebook for another night. The rebooked tour was then cancelled the following night due to mechanical issues with their only vehicle and a refund was given without the option to rebook. As this tour had included a camera tripod I hadn’t brought my own for the long exposure photography so obviously I didn’t have one when we had to book an alternate tour with another operator. Following this experience I have three tips: 1 - book your northern lights tour early in your trip to allow for rebooking (if required). 2 - be a “boy scout” and always come prepared with your own equipment. 3 - don’t book tours with one vehicle operators
