Nested within the Sibenik-Knin County, Krka National Park can be found along the Krka River. The Park’s last cascade of falls before the river joins the sea is a spectacle worth seeing. Replete with a stunning, multilevel waterfall cascading down travertine cliffs known as the Skradinski Buk Falls, it’s considered Europe’s most beautiful waterfall. At 46 meters, it also happens to be the highest travertine (gypsum) barrier across Europe. A large plateau above the falls affords stunning views and prime photo opportunities. Visitors can also explore a quaint ethnological exhibition and an old mill. The area abounds with diverse flora and fauna, and thanks to stringent new preservation regulations, its original state has been meticulously preserved.
