- Golconda Fort - Discover the world’s finest defense with a knowledgeable guide. The Golconda Fort’s history dates back to the 11th century. Initially a modest mud fort built by the Kakatiya of Warangal, it later became part of the Bahamani Empire and the principal capital of the Qutub Shahi sultans. Upon entering, you’ll encounter an 8 km granite wall, 8 gates, and 87 bastions. Your guide will lead you through the Bala-hisar gate, where you’ll experience the remarkable communication system at the Grand Clapping Portico, known for its echoing claps. Continue the journey to the world-renowned diamond market and ascend the fort steps to reach Baradari (Durbar Hall). Along the way, you’ll explore the Persian wooden wheel water supply system, granaries, Ramadas jail, Ibrahim mosque, and the Jagadamba Maha Kali temple from the 11th century. Upon reaching Baradari, enjoy a panoramic view of Golconda and Hyderabad city, and explore the King and Queen enclosures, harems, central courts, and stables for horses, camels, and elephants, among other attractions.
- Qutb Shahi Tombs - Located in Ibrahim Bagh near Golconda Fort in Hyderabad, the Qutb Shahi Tombs house the tombs and mosque arches, columns, dome minarets, and galleries, all crafted with finesse and surrounded by landscaped gardens developed by various sultans of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The smaller tombs are single-storied, while the larger ones are two-storied. At the center of each tomb is a stone casket that covers the actual burial vault in a crypt below. The domes were originally adorned with blue and green tiles, of which only a few fragments remain. The complex also features step wells, Turkish baths, and the finest Char-Bagh gardens, reminiscent of paradise.
- Puranapool - Puranapool, meaning “Old Bridge,” was originally known as Paar-ana-pool (a Persian term meaning “Bride of Love”). Upon arrival, your guide will share the love story of Muhammad Quli and Bagamathi, the founder of Hyderabad and the king of Golconda.
- Laad Bazar - Laad Bazar is one of India’s oldest street markets. “Laad” refers to lacquer, used to create bangles adorned with artificial diamonds. This 1-kilometer-long shopping area is home to numerous shops specializing in lacquer bangles, saris, wedding items, imitation jewelry, and perfumes.
- Charminar - The Charminar is an iconic landmark of India, part of the paradise city of the Qutub Shahi kings. Constructed at the crossroads of a historic trade route connecting the city to international markets via the port city of Machilipatnam, the Old City of Hyderabad was designed with Charminar as its centerpiece. The city expanded around Charminar into four quadrants and chambers, organized by established settlements. To the north of Charminar is Char Kaman, or four gateways, built in the cardinal directions. Eminent architects from Persia were invited to contribute to the city’s design. The structure was intended to serve as a mosque and madrasa, featuring Indo-Islamic architecture with Persian elements.
- Mecca Masjid - Constructed with local granite, Mecca Masjid is among the largest mosques in India and the most significant in the city. The arched gallery contains the tombs of all the Nizams since 1803. The mosque measures 225 feet in length, 180 feet in width, and 75 feet in height.
- Nimrah Cafe and Bakery - Nimrah Café and Bakery is one of the oldest bakeries in historic Hyderabad, where visitors can learn how to prepare Irani chai and enjoy famous Osmania cookies, along with a variety of Hyderabad street food.
- Chowmahalla Palace - Chowmahalla Palace is a stunning palace of the powerful Nizams of Hyderabad, who ruled from 1724 to 1948. It is renowned for its intricate wall and ceiling designs, a mechanical clock that has been running for over 250 years, 19 Belgian crystal chandeliers in the Durbar Hall, and the marble platform where the Takht-e-Nishan (royal seat) was placed.
- Moazzam Jahi Market - Moazzam Jahi Market is well-known for its fruit market, located in the heart of Hyderabad. Constructed in 1935 during the reign of the last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan, it was named after his second son, Moazzam Jah. In the 1980s, the fruit market was relocated to Kothapet.
- Hussain Sagar Lake - Just 2 km from the city center, Hussain Sagar is a popular tourist destination in Hyderabad. The lake connects Secunderabad and Hyderabad and is the largest artificial lake in Asia. Excavated in 1562 AD during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah, it was built on a tributary of the River Musi and named after Hussain Shah Wali. Initially, the lake served the city’s irrigation and water needs until 1930.
