Thorsmark has to be one of the most beautiful areas of Iceland! - This was one of our MOST memorable experiences for our family of 5 adults while in Iceland. Our guide, Hendrik, was so knowledgeable and maintained an excellent pace. He shared a number of stories about Iceland and its folklore. Our overall group size was about 12 or so, and we never felt rushed. We saw so many beautiful things! The ride across the many river crossings was so much fun. Walked up to a glacier - about 50 yards away or so - and then looked down on that same glacier after a phenomenal hike up to the top of Fimvorouhals trail with stunning 360degree views - including the valleys below and of Eyjafjallajokull as well. We hiked back down the other side to the Volcano Huts where we had a delicious lunch (included) of soups and other items. We reconnected with another part of our group that had opted for the shorter, less strenuous valley hike, and then back to the super jeep for more explorations, including one of the many Game of Thrones filming sites scattered across Iceland. This was an amazing day!!!

Worth it! - Thòrsmörk is absolutely amazing! You have access to parts of Iceland you would never see otherwise. Our guide was great, she led our group at our own pace. The lunch at Lava hut was also very good. Lamb or lentil soup with rice, bread, hummus, red curry or pesto. Forging the glacial rivers in the super jeep is a memory I will treasure.

Eye-Popping Adventure - I can’t say enough about this whole day adventure in the valley of the gods! Our guide, Sigi, is an enthusiastic and passionate advocate for Iceland and its natural wonders. He lead us to multiple short hikes to staggeringly beautiful spots. A great storyteller & host. The tour was largely away from tourist filled areas so we could really soak in the scenery.

Highly recommended day trip - What a fantastic trip. My husband, son (20) and I all thought this was our best day in Iceland in a week of great days. Hendrik, our guide, was brilliant with many interesting facts and stories to keep us entertained. The scenery was stunning and the hikes were rewarding with beautiful views and hidden waterfalls. Lunch was delicious too. I strongly recommend this company.

Great tour with the amazing Helgi - We had a fantastic time on this tour. Our guide and driver, Helgi, was funny, knowledgeable, great storyteller and clearly very experienced. He shared a lot of interesting facts and stories. Not just about Iceland’s nature, but also everyday life here, which gave the trip a personal touch. He even went out of his way (and got his feet wet!) to help my girlfriend cross the rivers safely. We saw truly beautiful places that we wouldn't have found on our own. Overall, it was a great experience and worth the money. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience!! - My husband and I were so excited for this tour and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. Our driver/guide extraordinaire Jakob was so skilled and informative, he made the day so enjoyable. The drive in our super jeep across the highlands was an experience we will never forget, and we felt so safe with Jakob! We lucked out and had beautiful weather, enjoyed our hike and breathtaking views from the top. Our hike was around 45 min because of the time of year, but we loved every minute. Jakob also made lots of stops at waterfalls, caverns, etc. our photos don't do the scenery justice. Thank you for an unforgettable day Jakob!

A great experience - 100% would recommend - My partner and I picked this trip out of the blue and had a fantastic time. Our guide Piggi was great, very knowledgable about the area but more importantly was passionate about the land and the special areas that he took us to. We felt honoured to have a local guide share what was so special to him, and as a result it felt really special for us. A short hike up the mountain to see the glacier and glacial lake was beautiful. We even saw an arctic fox near the cabins where we stopped for lunch! Piggi’s expertise with the 4WD was invaluable especially on some of the trickier river crossings.

Two great adventures! - We recently used Southcoast Adventures for two tours, booked through our hotel (Hotel Ranga). The tours were the Landmannalaugur super jeep tour, and the Thorsmork super jeep tour. The weather for both tours was quite challenging - for Landmannalaugur, an overnight snow followed by rain produced extremely challenging slushy conditions - the first route our guide (Ingemar) tried was inaccessible - even with super jeep, but he switched to a slightly longer route and got us there safely. Ingemar was very knowledgeable and focused on making our trip memorable. It turned out we were the only ones to make it to Landmannalaugur that day, and we enjoyed a private experience at the springs. The rhyolite scenery was amazing! The second tour was to Thorsmork on a super jeep. Once again we had challenging weather (heavy rain) but our guide (Elias) got us through safely, with lots of interesting knowledge about Iceland (we really loved the thirteen “Santa’s”!). Once again we were the only ones to get out to Thorsmork that morning, and it was an exciting trip. We were very fortunate that both tours ended up being private tours essentially since we were the only clients booked those days. Southcoast is very professional, and we highly recommend both them, and their guides Ingemar and Elias.
