Well worth a visit - This is an amazingly well designed museum showing and detailing about the earthquake and volcanic activity in Iceland, both historically and current. It is very interactive, so great for kids and adults alike. We also had lunch at the adjoining cafe which was also very good. Would highly recommend.

Very worthwhile stop on a road trip! - Excellent interactive exhibition of volcanoes and tectonic activity. Kids loved this. Right on the highway that you’ll pass anyway, if exploring southern Iceland. Well worth the stop and a decent cafe as well.

Wonderful interactive experience - This center demonstrates what it is like to live and work in the shadow of volcanoes. It also emulates lava flows and earthquake movements. This is well worth the expensive entrance fee. You will leave for a new appreciation of the volcanic experience in Iceland.

Wonderful experience - Wonderful exhibition! Definately worth a visit, especially on a rainy day, which are so many in Iceland. Basic and understandable. Discount for geography teachers as well ;)

10/10 lava exhibition - very interesting exhibition! the fact that it was interactive made the learning experience much more interesting. different types of sensory inducing activities definitely completed the experience. hearing what magma sounds like, feeling a 6,3 earthquake and the balcony to look for the volcano’s you just learned about. a very nice ending to the visit was the restaurant, staff was super nice and accommodating and the food was great! i would’ve loved to learn a little more about the recent eruptions, other than that definitely a 10/10 experience.

Great for a rainly day - This is an informative museum/experience that's worth considering when the weather turns bad. It is, however, quite expensive. The shop and cafe inside both look good if you're interested in that too.

a disgrace - save your money, save your time. - Not sure if the other reviews went to completely different exhibition.....this is by far the worst exhibit I have been to. There's a movie which shows previous volcanic eruptions in iceland...no words, no explanation. There's the exhibition section to the museum which is disappointing , just not enough information and the information presented is very poorly explained. We did go to the observation deck but it was cloudy so we didn't see anything. Thankfully there's an overpriced cafeteria & giftshop....The admission fees are high, we were very very disappointed with visit
