Excellent stage - We stayed there today almost by chance but it is a nice experience. There is a film about volcanic eruptions in Iceland with lots of photographic documents that you can enjoy comfortably sitting on the floor on a row of comfortable Fatboy pillows. The photography is beautiful and there are no words, only dates and very engaging music. It lasts about 10 minutes. Then you enter the exhibition, which is interactive and you will certainly not be bored. It shows how Iceland was formed, geoseismic zones and volcanic eruptions in chronological order. There is a corridor where there is the simulation of an earthquake and it is very impressive. Then the various types of volcano and lava are explained, and in a last room you can see the volcanoes around the museum and their history. It is really interesting to understand the history of the island. Probably not suitable for children.

LAVA Centre in Iceland. Highly recommended. - Very informative center. Interactive displays, volcano timelines, a short movie with stunning photography, and many displays. Current activity shows on a large map. It's definitely worth the entrance fee. You go at your own pace. Probably not of interest to very young children. We spent a bit over an hour there.

Definitely worth a visit - Small but very good exhibition about the eruptive activities of volcanoes of the last 100 years on Iceland. Definitely worth a visit, even if it is quite expensive. Also the shop attached is excellently sorted and not overcrowded.

Small but interesting - This small museum provides a great way to learn about volcanoes and volcanic activity in Iceland. Not sure I would make a specific trip out to see it but if it's along the way to something else, it's worth the stop.
