This by far is the worst tour I have... -
This by far is the worst tour I have ever done a waste of hard earned money, as far as we are concerned it was false advertising. We booked this tour because my husband was interested in the fishing part which just didn't happen at all. We booked through Viator which then passed the tour on to VietnamCheapPackages. When Mr Long our tour guide arrived, he said that we were to meet him at the office, we had arranged hotel pickup, he asked where our swimmers were, I pointed out that swimming wasn't mentioned on the itenery and that we would not be swimming. On the way it was obvious that the guide had no idea where to go as we had to turn around many times, finally we stopped so he could ask someone. We stopped at a house and shed where they made bamboo furniture, this was not on the itenery. Finally we arrived at Tam Giang Lagoon. The itenery said we would go to Vinh Tu Warf, Tam Giang Clubhouse, we would not know this as our guide didn't bother to tell us. He talked very fast and yelled, his English was not good, he ignored any questions we asked, wasn't interested at all, it got to the stage were we didn't bother to ask questions as we were over being ignored. We were supposed to get to cast out fishing net and learn about traditional fishing methods, unfortunately we didn't, we sat in a boat and watched a couple of men pull some traps out of the water and empty the tiny fish in a basket. The bike ride option there was none. Next we spent 2 hrs on a bamboo structure doing nothing, this is where the swimmers are needed. You are expected to fill in the time by swimming. Our guide didn't bother to speak to us but chose to join in with the local fishermen and talk to them away from us. Seafood dinner was prepared earlier and sat on boat in hot sun for about 2 hrs. The only good thing I can say is the sunset was beautiful, but was it worth the expense. NO. Tam Giang Lagoon is beautiful and worth seeing but go with another company. Do not go with VietnamCheapPackages.
