Highlights
  • Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) - Meet your driver at your hotel lobby at 09.00-09.15 AM. The transfer will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive, meet and greet with your guide for the day. Your guide will give you an informed guided tour around all areas of the center. You’ll see some of the rescued animals, hear their stories and learn why they are living at the center.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided for you. Enjoy a traditional Thai buffet looking over our large multi species enclosure with elephants, gibbons, and other animals. We will serve both vegan, vegetarian, and meat options at lunch.
After lunch, meet and feed one of the elephants. See how the volunteers at the elephant refuge go about their daily tasks. Learn about the elephant’s individual stories and about their personalities. Learn about the conservation issues that elephants face, and how they are exploited by tourist attractions, forced to carry lots of people and perform tricks – you will see none of this at the elephant refuge, where the elephant’s natural behaviour is of paramount importance.
Drive around the whole site and get to see the bears and monkeys enjoying their meal before the tour ends at approximately 3.30 PM.

Definitely a must to visit in Hua Hin - We had a great day exploring the wonderful work this centre does to rehabilitate animals and from pick up to drop off, the whole family love it! It was definitely worth the $$s. Natalie the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful as was Will. Highlight was feeding the elephants. 10/10 for a fab filled day! Fully recommend.

Wonderful Day - Totally marvellous day could not fault it. Our guide Edda was so knowledgeable and passionate and the tales she told us were both heartbreaking and heartwarming. We saw an amazing array of the rescue animals and were privileged to meet the founder of the rescue centre supervising the new arrivals of rescue tigers. Lunch was excellent and it was lovely to feed the elephants. Worth every Penny and much more

Animal protection top! - The tour was really great! The guide was very well informed and had answers to all questions. It's great that the animals get what they need. Even if a herd animal is not able to live in a herd due to its history, everything is done to make the animal feel as comfortable as possible. The enclosures are great. However, they should expand the merch and offer it again before you are taken back to the hotel. I think that many people would then take advantage of it to support the foundation. The overnight accommodation options also looked appealing. A really good idea to raise money for the foundation.

Must do day trip - Amazing tour around an incredible foundation, doing great work to help the animals. Great way to see and learn about the animals. Lovely and very knowledgeable tour guide Edda. Fanatic Thai buffet supplied for lunch. A very worth while trip and well worth the money, added bonus that the money goes to a great cause.

Awesome day trip in Hua Hin - not-to-be-missed - I took this day trip with friends from Denmark. It was an extraordinary and enjoyable day matched well with the learning and appreciation for all nature has to offer. A remarkable experience for adult and young folks alike. The stories were amazing - some extremely sad & troubling, regarding animal use and abuse. This foundation - the setting - the staff & volunteers will enhance your how you view animals in captivity and value those in the wild.

Not As Advertised - Booked this trip with our hotel concierge. Was told that we were booking a half day tour with an elephant encounter. We were picked up right on time, but then drove around for another 45 minutes looking for other guests - some of which they had a lot of trouble finding. Took another 45 minutes to get to the location. That is a whole 1.5 hours of just driving around wasted. Arrived late and was not offered the "free" coffee and tea as advertised. Broken into two groups. Our group had all the kids. You would think they would cater the tour to children but instead - the tourguide Bee had us listen to his endless (some very violent) stories - standing in on place - too hot and too much of his talking for hours with small children. Only saw an empty island - no gibbons, a few animals in cages and small pens. Saw one elephant from a distance - one kid even touched the electric fence and was crying - oops Bee forgot to warn the group that the fence was not to be touched. Looking at the bear - a tree branch fell and almost injured a few members of the tour group. All of this and no elephant encounter as promised/booked with our concierge with the tour group. Would definitely NOT recommend this place. Too much talking, many inappropriate stories in front of children, too much standing around in the heat, its like going to a zoo with all the animals in cages. Company did not do activities as promised even when I mentioned to Bee that this is not what we booked - THEY DO NOT CARE.
