Book with Moby Dick! - Wow, what a great experience! Not only did we get to see the whales, we went to the last tour so we got to take a beautiful boat ride as the sun was slowly setting on our way back. We loved everything about this company which is family owned. The crew was knowledgeable and incredibly kind. We marveled at the wooden boat and what a great name!

Good tour well priced - It was a very good experience. We did not go out as far as the bigger boats but we watched one humpback for an hour which was great

Good ride. - Overall a good experience. Complaint was the people at the front of the boat got the most opportunities to see whales. Would have been better if the boat rotated so EVERYONE could see the whales.

Interesting boat trip. - Long enough boat ride, and it's fast enough to see the whales. It wasn't very nice, and we haven't seen many, but it's still worth going. Very nice staff. Don't forget to cover yourself well ....

A Matter of chance! - The experience on the boat was good. The information provided to reach the boarding point was clear. The onboard announcements were interesting. It's a pity that we only got to see a few small whales at a distance.

I wish somebody told me this before I booked - We went on the 5 PM whale-watching cruise yesterday. The company itself does a great job and this review isn’t about Friends of Moby Dick specifically. It’s more about setting realistic expectations for what the experience is actually like, so people can make an informed decision before booking. Yes, we did see whales. But here’s the reality: they surface for maybe a second at a time, usually about 50 meters away. From that distance, they honestly look more like dolphins, and when you add it up, you probably get a total of about 10 seconds of actual whale viewing throughout the trip. The rest of the time is spent out on very cold open water. Arctic winds are no joke, you really need to wear heavy layers if you don’t want to be freezing. The cruise lasts around 3 hours, so keep that in mind. If the idea of being out on the water for several hours with just brief glimpses of whales sounds good to you, then by all means go for it. But if you’re imagining long, close encounters with whales, you may walk away a little underwhelmed.
