Great experience - The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable on the whales and bird species we saw along the trip. We saw plenty of whales from pretty close: very impressive and beautiful!

Whale watching with respect for wildlife - Very well organized an professional tour by knowledgeable staff on board of the small wooden ship. We were provided warm overalls which was really comfy to stay warm. Good explanation of puffin life and we spotted two humpback whales really clise by. The shipper ensures the whales are bot disturbed and at the same time everybody on board had enough time to see the whales and take pictures. On the way back we were treated hot chocolate and a tasty cinnamon bun. Really nice! We are a family with children 16 and 18 years and all had a fantastic afternoon on this trip!

Amazing experience - Good tour for 3.5 hours. Felt a bit sea sick but otherwise was good. Knowledgeable guides. Boat was a bit over booked and crowded which damped the experience a bit.

Brilliant experience - We recently had an amazing evening trip on a very stormy day - we saw humpback whales breaching and tail slapping like crazy! However maybe don’t stuff your face with the fabulous fish and chips in Husavik immediately before heading out on the boat. Several of our party felt rather I’ll - but would still recommend it! Excellent enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide.

There is nothing as amazing as seeing whales nearby - I went for the traditional puffin and whale-watching boat trip. It is slow compared to the speedboat offers but you are higher up and don't get wet. The highlights were the sighting of a blue whale, earth's largest mammal, blowing and then partially breaking the surface, and a much closer and longer view of a humpback whale that breached extensively, showing us then the fin and finally the distinctive tail. On the way we passed by Lundaey Island, which means Puffin Island in Icelandic. Year after year puffin couples return here (they mate for life) to nest. There are reported to be over 120 thousand of these cute little birds nesting here each year. Unfortunately, one cannot get close enough to see them nesting, except with binoculars. The trip was well organized with waterproof overalls provided. The only really negative was that there were so many passengers on board a not particularly big boat that there was not enough seats for everybody. Make sure you take a warm hat and gloves.

A dream come true!! - It was my dream to go whale watching in Iceland and I was not disappointed!! North Sailing provides you with warm overalls for the journey which was a huge plus. They also provide hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls on the way back to port which I never knew I needed until they were handing them out to all of the passengers. Staff was super knowledgable and I got some great footage of the puffins and whales!! We saw three humpbacks, 2 minke whales, and lotsss of puffins. I would recommend bringing binoculars with you. What a dream come true!!

Unfotunately there was... - Unfotunately there was bad sea the day we planned our visit. Our tour was postponed (in order to wait for better sea conditions) and modified (we had to skip the puffins). Of corse we were sad about that but nobody could preview it at the moment of the booking and the North sail team was more than cooperative in trying to find a solution and suggesting several options to reschedule the tour and allow us to have the better possible esperience. Of corse they were available for refounding (we were refound for the part of the tour we missed). In the end we also saw the whales 😊

Great to see a couple of humpback whales, the puffins were disappointing - The whale part was a prolonged encounter with 2 humpback whales who were feeding (and I guess bugged by the ship in their way). They came quite close. We saw some dolphins from very far away and the puffins were super far - you need a great big lens to see them better to go see them at Borgarfjarðarhöfn - there you can see them from a much better distance (and from land). Most of the time it’s just sailing in open waters (nice but gets boring after a while). If we had more than one spot with the whales would have probably been better.

Had a whale of a time!! - Must do if you visit Husavik. Despite being a very windy day we had a great time searching for whales on the lovely traditional boat. We followed a humpback for at least 30mins and saw lots of puffins and other seabirds up close. The lady guide was very knowledgeable and there was no hurrying to get back. Very relaxed and fun. They provide wind proof suits but still layer up underneath as gets pretty cold out there. Binoculars and cameras a must.

Wrongly charged upon paid-on-arrival - We had 4 people but we were charged 5 on the receipt. Interestingly we still only got ticket for 4 people, not 5. A refund was made after we pointed out the issue. The tour is supposed to offer cinnamon buns but it didn’t. The staff responded that the local bakery was on fire so the bun won’t be back until next week. Despite all these, the tour itself was great.
