White-beaked dolphins and Harbour porpoises can also be seen on our trips. These magnificent creatures are a sight to behold, and our team of whale-watching experts will help you get up close and personal with them.

In addition to whale watching, our tours offer breathtaking views of the beautiful Icelandic coastline and the chance to see other marine life, such as seals and sea birds. During a typical whale-watching tour, we will head West towards Kinnarfjöll, where the highest point is Syðri Háganga *(1284m). On that way across Skjálfandi Bay, we can expect to see Humpbacks, Minkes, and sometimes other species like Blue or Fin whales. Excellent whale watching trip - Very well run operation. Organized check in and timely departure. Knowledgeable biologist briefed the group and provided detailed info about the whales we were watching. Nice size group that enabled everyone to see and be comfortable on board

Humpback whales socializing and a blue whale! - During our recent trip to Iceland (early May), my wife and I did a whale-watching trip with Friends of Moby Dick – it was all around terrific! We were provided with warm weather gear that kept us comfortable; the boat was a nice size for a couple dozen people and good for moving around to see wildlife. And we saw lots of wildlife during our morning cruise–including humpback whales socializing and a blue whale! The marine biologist onboard provided a wealth of information and the tour took care to not stress the animals we were viewing. Thanks Friends of Moby Dick!

Amazing experience in the whale watching capital! - We booked the morning trip and it was fantastic! We got to see two humpback whales surface and dive multiple times, and our guide Marda plied us with amazing facts about whales throughout the trip. We couldn't feel our extremities by the end of the experience but it was totally worth it. You do have to keep in mind that you're watching an animal in the wild so you won't get very close or see too much of them, if anything at all. This is a worthy accommodation to make for sustainable observation of these animals, so as long as you go in with right expectations you'll have a great time.

Exciting & Authentic Whale Watching - We had a lovely experience on the Moby Dick and were glad to have Mada as our guide on the boat. She is a marine biologist from Portugal who gave us interesting insights to the whales surrounding us - 10/10!

Was fun - 1. Cheap. Not a given in Iceland 2. Not too long, 3 hours are enough. 3. Saw minke whales, but don't expect Moby Dick 4. Dress warmly. 5. We had fun 6 Don't eat fish & chips in the harbor, too expensive 300 meters further to the right in town there is a bakery. Have fun everyone

Absolutely disappointing! - We chose this whale watching tour and were faced with a fiasco. Technical problems on board meant that we had to drift in the water for half an hour while other boats easily reached the whales, which we could only see from a distance. Instead of the scheduled 3-3.5 hours, the tour was ended early due to the lack of GPS. The worst thing, however, was the lack of cooperation from the owners. It is better to book with another operator, preferably with a speedboat, as they were faster and very close to the whales regardless, to avoid such disappointments!
