Additional Information

Travel through mountain tunnels and stunning fjords on this half-day shore excursion tour to Dynjandi waterfall.

Starting from the port at Ísafjörður, this tour´s main highlight in Dynjandi waterfall, one of Iceland´s most famous waterfalls. It´s truly a must when visiting the west fjords. It is often said to resemble a bridal veil, tapering to its widest at 60 meters at the bottom.

Continuing the wedding theme, sample Hjónabandssæla cake, a traditional cake during your stop at Gemlufell, a tradional working farm. This oat and rhubarb jam creation translate as wedded bliss in English.

Great trip - fantastic landscape - It was a great trip. The waterfall is beautiful and there was enough time to hike up a bit. But you should wear sturdy shoes. The short stop with a tasty snack on the farm was also very interesting. We discovered 2 huts there that you can rent. So we can plan our next vacation :)

Fascinating falls, great, fun guide - The “bit of a drive” is well worth the journey. Superb and stunning views of waterfalls AND of the surrounding landscape. Fun, informative guide who shared lots of great information for the road trip. “Farm” was a pleasant coffee stop on way home. TIP At 11.30 am, the sun came over the back of the falls and you were then looking in to the sun to see the falls and it wasn’t as dramatic ( still great ) Encourage getting there a little before so you can walk up and appreciate view as you do Probably an hour or two later, when sun up, it would no longer be in your face. Highly recommend

Magical Day in Iceland - This was our first stop in Iceland on our cruise, and it set a high standard for excursions. Our guide was an amazing Australian woman who was stranded in Iceland by Covid and stayed. She is an expert on Icelandic choral music and speaks Icelandic. She also sang an old folk song for us while we went through a long dark tunnel. Magical! She was full of interesting info. The waterfall Dynjandi is beautiful and definitely worth the trip. I would have liked more time there because only my speedy son made it to the top level and took great photos. The farm stop was pleasant and felt authentic, and the Happy Marriage cake was tasty. We could have cut 20 minutes from that stop in order to allow more time at Dynjandi. Overall, I highly recommend this tour.

Good cruise port private tour - We recently returned from a cruise that stopped in Isafjordur. We elected to do this private bus tour rather than go on a ship excursion. We were very pleased with our tour. The guide was really funny and nice. The Dynjandi Waterfall was beautiful, and we had plenty of time to climb around and take pictures. A climb all the way to the top point would be pretty challenging, so if you do this tour have good hiking shoes and a walking stick. After the waterfall we stopped at a farm where we enjoyed traditional cake and a visit to some pretty odd looking sheep and goats. It was nice, then a return to the ship. I would have rather had the flexibility of a small van or taxi tour, but this was quite good as bus trips go.

Unforgettable Dynjandi Waterfall Iceland Excursion - We had wonderful trip to Dynjandi Waterfall & a farm visit on 9/7/23. We were picked up on time by our tour guide/driver Tom. He is very knowledgeable & kind. All passengers loved Tom. He is a safe driver, We wished all tour guides are like Tom. He has sense of humor & actually can sing. We also had a warm welcomed from the owner of the farm we visited. We had a hot coco & delicious cake. An interesting stopover able to learn about animals & the farm. All passengers followed Tom’s directions & instructions to be on time. He was happy because we were all on time. It was a beautiful whole day trip. One of our best excursions with our exceptional guide/driver. Thank you Tom and Viator!

Lovely half-day tour to the counrtyside and waterfall - A unique waterfall worth the bus trip! It is very different in shape for Godafoss and multi-level. It has trails to hike up to different viewpoints. Stopping at the Icelandic farm was lovely. We enjoyed traditional cake and coffee and were able to meet the farmer and ask questions. Their approach to sheep farming is much different than in other countries as I understand. The sheep run wild across the island all spring and summer, then are rounded up and reallocated to each farmer before being sent to market.
