- Western Horizons Hot Air Balloons - Western Horizons Hot Air Balloons offers a unique adventure and an opportunity to experience stunning panoramic views of the Southern Black Hills and the expansive prairie of Western South Dakota. On our flights, we frequently see deer, wild turkeys, waterfowl, and other wildlife. Upon safely landing, you will celebrate your flight with the traditional champagne toast (or non-alcoholic substitute) and post-flight hors d’ oeuvres while listening to a little bit of ballooning history from your pilot. You will also receive a personalized flight certificate and a digital (electronic) copy of your picture taken in-flight to end your memorable adventure.

Would do it again - Awesome view. With friendly crew! 100 percent enjoyed our very first ballon ride! Loved the hot chocolate for the cold day. And exceeded my expectations.

AWESOME ride over Angustora Lake - Thank you Petra and crew for the GREAT flight today over Angustora Lake. This was last years bday present from my hubby. You exceeded my expectations of what to expect on the ride, great views and photo opportunities!!!

Such great fun!! - Petra and her team are true professionals and made our first balloon ride absolutely one of our best life adventures. Floating over the Black Hills was so beautiful and peaceful and Petra made our ride fun and interesting by willingly sharing her knowledge about ballooning and answering all of our questions on how things work with the equipment, atmosphere, the terrain, and her interesting career. Setup was so meticulous and well organized which made us feel very safe and secure as we embarked on our wonderful hour-long ride. Our landing was also perfect as we slowly drifted in and gently landed on the airfield. Pack-up was fun and interesting to watch and help with. We also thoroughly enjoyed our after-ride reception and snacks which gave us a chance to get to tell Petra and her crew what a fantastic experience they gave us. We would highly recommend riding with Petra and Western Horizons to any and all - you will love it!!

Amazing experience - This was an incredible experience! Petra was so calm and confident and we felt safe and well taken care of the entire time. The views were stunning and although I grew up in the Black Hills, I saw the area in a new and amazing way! Truly an incredible experience!

The Glorious Drifter - What an incredible time we had flying with Petra, her crew, and Glorious Drifter! They are a kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable team who took such good care of us. The sun came up as we took off, lighting up the most beautiful of landscapes. The ride was was serene! We truly loved that this was a private and personal experience for just our family of five. Other hot air balloon companies in the area offer more of a shared experience. We will always remember our very first hot air balloon ride…it certainly won’t be our last!

Best "bucket list" adventure I've done so far!! - Flying with Western Horizons is amazing! Petra and the other pilots make sure you have the best flight you can have and the crew goes out of their way to make it fun experience. The Southern Black Hills are so pretty from above!! Totally recommend this to anyone visiting the Hot Springs area!!
