Trekking along the Levada, a disused water route, transports you to an utterly new universe, much like stepping into the world of Jurassic Park, except without the dinosaurs. The journey along the Levada can still be undertaken, even when the weather isn’t ideal. The Levada trail isn’t overly strenuous, but prepare for some damp spots and a brief, gloomy tunnel. The hike consumes around 3 to 4 hours, and due to the trail’s layout, you will be retracing your steps on the return trip.

Great hike with a great guide - Great hike with a great guide. Andreas is the owner operator and was a fantastic host on one of his favorite trails. The scenery was amazing as you hike through the forests occasionally popping out to catch a glimpse of the coast. The trail is relatively easy with only some steep ascents and descents but mostly flat. It can be incredibly muddy so wear your hiking boots. The halfway stop for a picnic lunch provides the boost needed to make the in and out hike well worth your time.
