Hop on Bus tour, no real time to hop off - This tour is not as comprehensive as the south tour. Difficult to get off the tour and make all the stops as the bus only comes by every hour. Also difficult to make the choices where to hop off. We did the Aircraft museum, Mosta and Mdina. That’s all we had time as we then needed to get the bus back around all the other stops without getting off.

Know before you buy - Would have been great if they would have clearly communicated the bus times correctly. We were at Golden Bay beach, having been told the last bus would be 5 or 530. They never showed. We and others ended up having to get an Uber to get back to the waterfront. It was also Easter Sunday, so they took us to an area that was closed, not realizing it was Sunday. Also, there are two companies with too similar names....Maltasightseeing and SightseeingMalta.... the latter has more busses that run later

An average experience - This tour did what we required, however local buses would have achieved the same end result. The open top was nice but although we were on the second bus of the day the front window was fithy and lessened the experience from the start. This is not a difficult thing to fix. Of the 8 different seats we sat in, only one socket worked so we could not listen to the commentary - this was one of the reasons why we'd chosen this tour and regret not reading the reviews beforehand. We had a dreadful experience in Mdina, which appeared the same for all the open top buses companies. Too many people trying to get onto buses, confusion over which buses to take and a real risk of someone being seriously injured. Passengers were pushing and shoving to ensure they got on the bus and any queuing system went out of the window. Furthermore, one of the seat belts wasn't working. The timetable wasn't accurate from Golden Bay and, had we stuck with the published time, rather than arriving early, cwe would have been stranded. Overall, we got to see the island but wouldn't rush to do this again. Consider public transport as an alternative. These issues are all easy fixes for the tour operators.

Impeccable on paper but shocking in reality - On paper and in terms of purpose, nothing to say: it is one of the most complex, long and complete tours we have ever come across in other locations regarding visits on open-top buses. Chapeau for the initiative. Obviously this sophisticated program should have corresponded to the same amount of organizational capacity, but this was not the case. No information desk, but rather a couple of unrecognizable and, moreover, uselessly polemical operators: we were scolded rudely, as if by a frustrated kindergarten teacher who caught two children exchanging tiles on the tatami, because we hadn't bought the tickets with her but in the hotel, snorting and shaking his head "but why?! So we have to pay the commission!". An absolutely unprofessional way of addressing a customer. Plus he advises her to wash her hair like a failed shaman. Returning to the tour: the frequency of passage of the buses is ridiculous to say the least and does not allow you to visit the places well since if you want to get off even just to take a photo of the landscape you are forced to wait an hour for the next bus. I wish in reality it was an hour as expected in the timetable: each ride is in fact chronically late by at least 20 minutes, just to inflame the frustration. Furthermore, every bus that arrives is packed to capacity, at any time, and you are forced to stand as if on a bus of sweaty and embittered commuters going to their secretarial work in Lodi. The icing on the cake is that 70% of the earphones are not working. All this would be fine for €4, but not for €62 where I would also expect a buffet service with grilled European lobster.

Do not waste your money! - I regularly do hop on hop off and this was the worst experience! No sound was working for 100 passengers, no explanation, no apology, nothing. Driven thru industrial sites and on the highway with no sites to be had. Do not waste your money this was an extremely disappointing experience.

Total scam - Avoid. You wait so long to actually get on the bus. I stood from 10.30 to 11.15 for north route bus at Valletta stop. Bus arrived but full so had to wait to next one. In the end, an employee of the company flagged down another bus and I eventually found a seat with working commentary. Much use as it was. V poor. Tour continued until Mdina. Then we were abruptly told end of route, every one off. So what happened to the rest of the north tour ? In the end I caught regular bus back to Valletta and called it a day. 22 euros wasted. I would like to say how very rude the staff at the bus stop and on the bus were. They pulled off before people had got off the bus. One lady fell getting on as it was just a big scrum to get on but no one helped her. Staff didn't want to know apart from when they were selling you tickets. Just Avoid this money grabbing scam.

One to avoid if you can - Easily the worst such tour we have been on, not helped by the fact that there seem to be almost no marked bust stops. The commentary was patchy and gave out almost completely after Mosta, half way through the tour. Is there nothing to say about Mdina, the ancient capital of Malta and its spectacular buildings? One to avoid if you can.

DON’T DO IT! - Wish I read the reviews before we went on this tour, it’s not something we would normally do but seemed a good way to see the island - how wrong can you be?! When the bus arrived there was a free for all to get on board and upstairs which we didn’t manage. No explanation of how to tune head phones into your language and some points didn’t work. The descriptions were sparse and you couldn’t see the things from the bus anyway. After another free for all getting back on the bus after our first stop we decided not to get off again and returned to Sliema where the tour ended. It was a total waste of money, quite stressful and very badly organised, DONT DO IT!
