Great Fishing - My family had a great time on this excursion. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took good care of us. The equipment was great and all provided for us. We had to drive a ways to get to the stream but we enjoyed the scenery. The salmon were a little late this year so we didn't get to fish for any but had good luck with other fish. The rains the night before caused the river to run very high and our guide almost had to cancel but he made it work despite the conditions and we enjoyed ourselves. It would have been smart to bring a change of clothes with us because one of my boys got wet. Our guide lent him his dry coat and we were very greatful. This is a catch and release fishing experience and you need to purchase your own fishing license for 17 and above before you go. Internet is bad so do it before you travel. We would definitely recommend this tour guide and trip to others that want to experience fishing in an Alaskan river.

Lucas’ Secret Spot! - Lucas took us to his secret spot to fish for halibut and it was non stop action!! I only went because of my son and was not interested in fishing, but took part simply because I already paid and was there. In the end, I didn’t even get a break, it was fish after fish! My son was having the best time of his life! Lucas was soooo helpful, friendly and easy to talk to! Highly recommend for anyone that is interested in halibut fishing!!

Stop searching. This is your guide - Ocean fishing in Alaska has been on my "to do" list for a lot of years now. I had an image in my head of filling an ice chest full of halibut and sending it home for the family. Things have become tightly regulated recently to where you can only keep one halibut per person per day and it has to fall within strict size requirements. Probably for the better to keep the population healthy. I chose a trip with Game Creek Guides because I would be docking in "Icy Straight Point" (Hoonah) for the day and wanted to be able to keep what I caught. I was sailing with NCL and all of the charters through the ship made you catch and release. I thought that my wife and kids would want to fish with me, but they all opted to stay on the boat so my mom and I embarked on this adventure. Lukas picked us and four others up on time at the adventure hub and took us the mile or so into town. He had the boat prepped and ready to go so we quickly head out after a safety briefing. We weren't too far out when he said that we would give it a go, so we all prepped our lines and dropped in. We had a few bites here and there but he felt like we should be getting more so we moved a bit and dropped back in. Now everyone was getting hits, pulling in fish between 30 and 36". We drifted for a bit and everyone who wanted to keep fishing kept pulling in fish non-stop. We had plenty of selection on what we wanted to keep and what we wanted to throw back. Lukas knew exactly where to go to find the fish and kept it fun throughout the outing. While returning Lukas told us about how the cruise lines are attracting a lot of people from outside the area to start doing fishing charters. Lukas was born and raised in the area and has been running fishing charters for over 20 years. Go with the local, go with the best, go with Game Creek Guides.

BEST FISHING EXPERIENCE EVER! - BEST EXCURSION WHILE IN ALASKA! While on a recent cruise, my son decided that he wanted to go fishing for halibut. After doing some research, I scheduled Game Creek Guides. Our whole family had a fantastic time with Capt. Lucas and we caught so many halibut that we were tired when our time was up. Lucas took the time to find the whales everyone was talking about, and even stopped to show us a bear playing in the creek. What a memorable time! Thanks from the Rudolph Family, Lucas!

Totally Fantastic!!! On All Levels!!! - We caught a day the water was rising and cloudy ... so the fishing was tough but the experience was awesome. Our guide was so patient and kind. I had a great day even with not catching fish. Beautiful area we fished. Got a see a bear playing in the water. Fish spawning. It was well worth it.

Absolute fun time stream fishing. - Stream fishing with Chris. Had amazing fishing that day even though it rained the entire time. We also got to see two bears, one while driving and other was walking along the other side of stream from where we were. This was 5th or 6th time fishing with Game Creek over the past 10 years and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend them if you visit this port on a cruise, or even if doing trip on your own.
