10/10 would go again - We did the Dune Buggy / monkey and sloth excursion for NCL Breakaway March 2024. The guys at the dune buggy worked their butts off to take care of us. Anytime we had an issue with the buggy, they would appear and help us. Either giving us a new buggy or pushing a buggy up the hill alone when it didn’t want to make it. They always made sure we stayed on the course and it was a blast.

100% worth it!!!! Take the private tour, highly recommend - This was an insane experience. We had a driver - Victor - pick us up directly from the port exit, he had a sign with our name on it & was very easy to find. He had the AC on in his car waiting for us & we left the chaos of the area right away. Victor drove us around the island and talked to us about his experiences and showed us different points of interest and gave us the opportunity to get out & take photos in front of certain scenery. He also stopped at the gas station for us to grab some waters. Our first stop was to see the monkeys and sloths which we didn’t love, but that part of the tour was run by a different company. We saw some cool animals and held a sloth but it was just not our favorite thing. Because the island had 5 cruises that day EVERYTHING was packed, so unfortunately we were not able to do the zip lining because the park didn’t have enough staff to do the tours. We went to the ATV Roatan next to do the buggy ride which was a great experience. Staff was very attentive and gave us bandanas to cover our hair and face to protect us from the mud, and offered bags to keep our shoes clean as well. Our tour guide in the buggy’s Brian was AWESOME. - at one point his buggy broke down so he RAN the track as we followed behind until someone was able to get him a new buggy. We had a blast, we shared a buggy but we had the option to have separate ones or switch drivers. There was also a professional photographer on the tracks that took a ton of photos of us you could buy at the end for $30 for all of the digital prints. After we started to get nervous that we weren’t going to be back to the port on time but the ladies at the entrance assured us we would be fine, and actually sent us with a different driver to the next stop as ours was stuck in traffic returning to pick us up and had him meet us there. The last stop on the tour was insane. We went to a private beach resort. Pristine bay, which was probably the most beautiful place I have ever been. The drinks and food were amazing and Victor met us there to bring us back to the port and offered to bring us to the downtown shopping area as well. All in all we pretty much had our own personal driver for the day, and when we got back I emailed the company for a partial refund since we weren’t able to zipline and they refunded me immediately. Customer service at all levels was a 10/10. Special shout out to Victor & Brian!!!

Great time had by all - The entire tour was just phenomenal. All the staff at the ATV jungle tour were great. We got there a few days after a lot of rain so it was mud covered fun riding covered in mud absolutely had the best time of our lives. We were so covered in mud at the end there is a little bridge and there were kids playing in the water and I decided to jump off the bridge with the kids jump into the water and play. It was awesome, everybody there was completely supportive of those. Who knew how to ride and who did not know how to ride made everybody. Have a great time. Thank you keep up the good work.

Adventurous Excursion - We selected this excursion because of the variety of activities. Family of 4, daughters are 17 and 19. Cruising on Royal Caribbean and the ship did not dock at pier as scheduled. The tender process was slow and we did not get to the pier until more than 2 hours after scheduled. WE had contacted the tour operator when we realize the debacle on the ship and they were extremely accommodating. Lexi was our driver for the day and came to pick us up when we finally arrived in port. He was very friendly and not at all bothered by having to basically drive twice as much to accommodate our group as well as the regularly scheduled tour. Our first stop was the Dune Buggy/ ATV park. Honestly this was the part of the day that I was a little hesitate about but it was SO MUCH FUN!!! We selected the dune buggys so we could ride together, even though our girls could have driven alone and it was fun sharing the experience. Our guides were Quinn and Jay and they were excellent. They were patient, helpful and funny. You can tell they love their job. They both made sure were were safe and helped navigate through the course, helping when we got stuck a couple of times. We went through mud and streams and had the best time. We did get muddy from head to toe, so a change of clothes is a must. Also we purchased the photo package before we left and are so glad we have photos of this experience. Well worth it! Afterwards there are showers to clean up so we changed and left for the Sloth Hangout. The next stop was Mayan Eden nature center. The guide through the park brought out the monkeys for great photo ops. I do not like monkeys but warmed up to them a little! We saw various types of native animals and then the sloths. We each got to hold a sloth and they were interesting. This was a shorter stop due to our late start but it was just enough time to see all of the animals. We then left for a short ride to the beach. Next was the Las Palmas beach resort. We arrived around 2 and it was not crowded at all. There were plenty of chairs and even swings in the water. The beach was beautiful. We were hungry and ordered chicken and beef quesadillas and they were delicious. The beer was cold and the service was excellent. We stayed for about 2 hours because we had to get back, but could have stayed all day! I highly recommend this tour for families with teens/ older kids. It was different than the usual tours that we have done on cruises in the past. Lexi was an excellent tour guide and his kindness was infectious! We all left with a smile.

Amazing Guides on our Roatan Tour - When we arrived at the pick up spot we were a bit early. Lots of other tour company's onsite trying to take us on a different tour. Our tour guide, Oscar, showed up just as planned with a sign holding our name. Our entire family felt like we had known Oscar for years! What an amazing tour guide. He had the chance to do multiple tours that day and chose to hang with us all day instead! From the sloths to getting completely drenched in mud on the ATVs and dune buggy's to the awesome beach experience, my family had an unforgettable experience in Roatan. Our two additional guides at the Dune Buggy/ATV experience were absolutely amazing! They took ever precaution and wanted to make sure each of us enjoyed our experience. All 3 of these guys deserve a BIG raise! Praying the best for Oscar and his family! For quick recovery for his mom. Thanks again for an awesome time! We would recommend this tour to anyone!

Best shore excursion during the whole cruise experience - We had booked several excursions during our cruise, and this was the best one out of all of them. It offered many different activities, and the customer service and the tour guides from the beginning to the end were fantastic. Treated us are very special.

A truly great excursion! - So much fun! We went on this excursion with our sons, 9 and 11. The buggies were fun (be prepared to be muddy and dirt covered!). Mayan Eden was beautiful, and we met (and held) all of the animals we could. I especially liked that through this tour we had almost a “fast pass” through the sanctuary. There we other large groups that didn’t get the personal experience we did and likely waited a lot longer to get to be close to the animals. The beach resort at the end of the tour was a perfect way to wind down. The food was delicious and fairly priced. I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Oscar (our main guide) for making our day in Roatán!

BEST DAY!!! - Couldn't wait to reach Roatan and it certainly didn't disappoint. From the second we got off the ship the people were all so very kind and helpful. Our guide for our excursion, Basin (not too sure of the spelling), was very informative, not to mention a whole lot of fun. We arrived at the Sloth/Monkey/Toucan/Parrot place and were quickly introduced to Joshue who was very knowledgeable on all the inhabitants. Holding a Sloth has always been up there on my bucket list, they are such interesting and adorable creatures. The caregivers were all more than happy to take multiple pictures of us holding the Sloths, Monkeys and Parrots... all with our own cell phones. After leaving the animals we headed over to Roatan ATV & Dune Buggy where we were fitted with bandanas over our heads, and helmets. We were given video instruction and brought down the hill to the ATV's. My husband and I were directly behind our guide and had no trouble keeping up. Word of advice, be kind and patient as it may be the first time for some riders, so not unusual to stop a few times along the way. I could have ridden through the jungle all day. We returned to the main area after our ride, said our goodbyes, took some more pictures and headed to our next stop. Las Palmas was the perfect ending. We enjoyed the beach, some food, drinks and of course all that beautiful sunshine. This was by far our favourite island port. We look forward to returning to Roatan for a longer hotel beach stay vacation. Thanks again to all who made this day the highlight of our trip.

Great day off the ship! - What a great way to spend the day! Oscar was our driver, and team 3 did our ATV tour. Our 11 and 14 year old girls enjoyed everything about this day - despite the pouring rain at the eco-park. We got MUDDY (floor it through the mud pit to really get your kids SOAKED). Oscar stopped to let us try a unique island food roadside (green mango with hot sauce and vinegar...we were split on whether or not it was delicious). Finished the day relaxing (and clean) at the beach. Definitely bring towels and a clean, dry change of clothes.

Avoid the Buggies, but definitely go to Mayan Eden Park - Buggy Adventure (Worst) The Buggy experience was terrible. They could never get them working fully. We were supposed to follow our guide, but everyone's buggy kept breaking down and we had to wait for someone to come fix it or wait for a replacement. Our buggy wouldn't stay running, but luckily the started worked great because I had to keep restarting it. Our buggy also wasn't powerful enough to make it up a hill that we were supposed to go over. My wife and the wife in the buggy behind us had to get out and push it up the hill. When I finally made it over the top, my wife slipped and fell. Just ridiculous that customers had to get out on the course just to try and make it through. We were the first group of the day, so there shouldn't have been this many issues. We made one circuit around their course and then back in for all of us because it was so bad and they had so many issues. I've attached a couple of pics of how well the seatbelts were attached and the injury to my wife's knee after having to push us up a hill. Sloth Hangout (Highly Recommend) The Mayan Eden Park was awesome. They had a butterfly exhibit that you could walk through, we got to hold a Toucan, Macaw, a baby monkey and a sloth. I would highly recommend this park for sure. Private Beach Resort (Good) The water was only about 3-4 feet deep, but the beach was nice. There were plenty of beach seating for everyone and the locals were making drinks that were very tasty in pineapples and coconuts. Overall, if we could have done this excursion without the buggies, we would have rated it much higher.
