Excellent food and guide - Our hostess was amazing! She brought me and my partner to try some incredible local cuisine that was familiar but with an interesting spin/twist to the classic dishes. The food was in abundance (we were full - and I usually eat a lot!) and everything tasted amazing!!! We're both non-meat eaters and she made sure our dietary requirements were met all the way. I even got to make my own Banh Cuon and it was super fun!!! The little spots and alley walks we went on were sprinkled with lots of interesting stories and insights into how some people live in Hanoi. All of it were super interesting too. All in all, a perfect way to start our first evening in Hanoi. Seriously, do it. You'll get so much out of it, especially if you don't speak the language and are new to the city.

Amazing food tour! Ella is awesome - Had the best food tour I’ve ever taken with Ella. My husband and I stopped by Hanoi on our honeymoon, and booked a private tour with Ella based on TripAdvisor/Reddit. She was super responsive on email, and the tour was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about Vietnamese food and Hanoi, and took us to some of the best places in the Old Quarter - we loved the banh mi, bun cha, and the bia hoi! She was also great to chat with, and gave us more recommendations for after the tour. Thank you Ella! We would highly recommend Ella and would take a tour with her again.

Unforgettable food tour in the old quarter - Ella was fantastic and showed us the authentic parts of the Old Quarter with delicious food and gave us more context into the origins of the dishes we ate. She is very personable and made sure everyone in our group was engaged. This is a tour I would happily do again, you’d be lucky to score a spot!

Great experience - Ella is knowledgeable, and shares her stories of growing up in Vietnam during the tour- a unique experience and much better than trying these food places on your own. You also get to meet incredible people from different countries, also traveling SE Asia on this tour, which was one of my favorite parts of the experience.

Double check who your tour guide is - I would highly recommend you confirm who your tour guide is beforehand. My group was left confused and a bit disappointed when we were greeted by someone else other than Ella, and having a different tour guide was not communicated to us beforehand. Our guide Anna was lovely, but we wish she had been more interactive with us and her English was challenging for us to understand at times.
