One of the best things we did! - Excellent day, can’t say it enough. Garl was extremely knowledgeable about the ecosystems and animal life in the Everglades. He effortlessly accommodated our diverse aged family group which included a 78 year old, a 10 year old and a 20 year old, keeping the day active and interesting enough for all, but taking cues easily when interests or activity level started to wain. He also was a very calm presence, my 10 year old was anxious about getting eaten by an alligator during our canopy walk and was sticking very close to my husband and I, but by the end he had ditched us and was up walking with Garl asking numerous questions (all which were answered thoughtfully) and talking his ear off about the entire experience. He made him feel very comfortable with his even keel and knowledgeable personality.

Great guide - Garl was awesome. He is the guide you want. He will take you wherever is best given the day’s conditions and knows the park inside out. Even though the water was much higher than normal at this time of year (late March 2024) and we didn’t see too many animals, he still gave a great tour about the different plants and after the kayak tour took us wading in knee deep water through a cypress dome. We had (adventuresome) kids with us, ages 4, 5 and 6, and they absolutely loved the tour. Asked to come back the next day.

A must do… experience of a lifetime! - This all day adventure definitely did not disappoint our family! Garl is an amazing wealth of knowledge and provided our group with history and insight into the Everglades. The slogging through a cypress dome was an experience that will provide stories for a lifetime. The kayaking adventure through the mangrove trees led us to gator sightings. Would highly recommend this experience 10/10!

Amazing experience - This tour was so cool. Garl is incredibly knowledgeable about the Everglades and took us to some truly magical spots we never would have found on our own. The cypress dome and the mangroves are unlike any environment I've seen. We ran into crocs, alligators, manatees, sharks, and an insane variety of birds, an according to Garl this was a bad day for wildlife. Worth absolutely every penny, and will strongly consider going back if we find ourselves in South Florida again. Make sure to rest up before you go because it's a pretty physically demanding excursion, but absolutely worth the effort.

The Best Everglades Excursion Possible - There is NO BETTER guide to the Everglades and overall tour that Garl. We have done this trip several times and we hope to do it several more. Garl is incredibly knowledgeable about all the plants and animals you encounter, the history of the Everglades and the conservation efforts of the past and present.

We saw baby alligators! - Garl is a gem. He took us through river waters and explained a great deal about the ecosystem. Kayaking through the mangroves was just beautiful and serene. We saw a few sharks later in the day, but the best part was the magical sunset. Then when we thought the day was over, we decided to go on a night watch for snakes and alligators and ended up seeing several baby alligators. This was the icing on the cake. Garl went above and beyond to make our experience a good one despite it being a chilly, cloudy day. Highly recommend.

Well Worth The Price! - This tour is worth every single penny - in fact he probably should be charging double what he does! The weather was not entirely on our side the day we went. It's supposed to be dry season and it hasn't really been, so alligator sightings were lower because they weren't congregating as much as they typically do at this time of year. It was also windy, so the ocean mudflats that we kayaked over were murky which made it difficult to see all the sharks and stingrays that were rippling over the surface. The hike through the everglades was not nearly as scary as I anticipated. Garl made us feel safe, especially his references to knowing who each alligator was by name and the fact that he gives these tours to school kids. He also provided towels to dry off with before getting back into the car. The 6 mile kayak was tiring due to the windy conditions and tide, but it was worth it because there was no one around. I was apprehensive about the sharks, but we only saw small pups. He does adjust the tours to the participants who come, so do not be worried if a 6 mile kayak is too much, he has alternative kayaking locations. There are very few actual bathrooms, so be advised to take a potty-break when a bathroom is available! I would say that you should invest in some items to make this tour even better. Their website recommends some things, but this is what I would recommend to purchase: 1. Polarized sunglasses 2. Quick dry long pants 3. Quick dry long sleeve shirt 4. Waterproof phone pouch 5. Water shoes 6. Sun hat 7. Insulated water bottle

Great way to do something physical, learn, and be entertained! - Gray way to enjoy a full day activity! Hiking and kayaking. We walked in the Everglades and were shown how the water and animals are interrelated. Garl was very knowledgeable and entertaining!
