Cu Chi has been lauded as a district of valor for its involvement in the Vietnam war against the Americans. It’s famous for its expansive tunnel system stretching over 220km and has become a frequently visited site by both local and international tourists.
- The idyllic rural landscape featuring rice fields provides a tranquil backdrop with ducks and water buffalos frolicking in the corridors of the river. It’s hard to fathom that this peaceful area was once a zone of intense conflict and devastation, that stemmed from bombing and landmines, when Cu Chi was designated as ‘A Free Target Zone’. The remaining vestiges bear witness to Cu Chi’s brutal past, clearly illustrating the rigorous battles that ensued here.
- After exploring the area, visitors can then unwind with some tea and cassava, a staple food that was consumed by the guerrillas during the war.

- To be honest I was debating the price difference between traveling by speed boat or by bus . Decided on speed boat ! Definitely worth it . The boat trip alone was amazing! The guide told us about the buildings in the city along the way . The guide and the lady on the boat could not have been nicer or more helpful. We were offered breakfast , coffee and drinks on boarding and the lady on board , kept offering bottles of cold water , minerals and fresh fruit the entire time we were on board to and from !
Thought the tunnels ( in my lack of knowledge) would be a quick look at a tunnel but the guide was brilliant, there was loads to see . The guide took videos of us which he later what’s app individual videos of each person to their what’s app ! Very kind . It was so interesting and so much information! We were finished the tour before the hundreds of tour buses arrived. That alone was worth the extra money you pay . Really enjoyed the morning. If you are on the fence about the extra money for the speed boat ! Don’t , the ride up the river is beautiful and def worth being finished before the tour buses arrive ! It’s hot in the jungle ! Bring mozzie spray !

Day tour with SST travel - Such a Good experience day tour to Cu Chi Tunnel.Sam is a very good and funny tour guide. Very professional even in a hot weather. Definitely will join next time when we travel Vietnam again.

Learned So Much, Thanks to an Amazing Guide - We really enjoyed the Cu Chi Tunnels tour—super interesting and well worth the visit. But what made it even better was our tour guide, Tom. He was amazing! You could really feel how passionate he was when explaining things. It wasn’t just facts—he made the whole experience feel alive and meaningful. You can tell he genuinely cares about sharing the history, and that made a huge difference. Highly recommend the tour, and if you get Tom as your guide, that’s a bonus!

Excellent Crash Course of the Cu chi tunnel - The tour was excellent and well-organized. There was a quick stop at the laquer factory to showcase the craftsmanship of the PWDs who worked there. Our tour guide, Anna, was very cheerful and knowledgeable of the history of Cu Chi. I ry appreciate her kind gestures.

Cu Chi Tunnels Tour - My partner and I highly recommend this tour. We were promptly contacted after booking to arrange details for pick up at our hotel for the tour. Our tour guide Travis and our driver were fantastic! Travis was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. He took great care of us and made sure everyone had a positive experience. His English was also very good and easy to understand. Thank you SST Travel!
