Highlights
  • Traditional Japanese Archery Experience “SHA-RAKU” - Kyudo is a Japanese martial art based on shooting an arrow from a Japanese bow to a target to reach a complete focus of mind and body. The main difference of kyudo and western archery is that, in kyudo, every movement follows a traditional routine that pays respect to the equipment and to the opponent. You will come to the archery range and dress in an authentic kyudo uniform, which will include dogi—the upper wear—and hakama—the lower wear. I’ll give a brief explanation about the art of kyudo as well as instructions and demonstrations. With the knowledge you’ll gain, you will learn to shoot arrows at the target. You’ll also understand the fun and challenging aspect of the sport, particularly while wearing the traditional hakama and armor. Usually in kyudo, you are not allowed to pull the arrow unless you master the basics. But during our lesson, you will be able to enjoy the real kyudo experience even as a complete beginner. It will be a great time if you are looking for a nice photo or movie to show to your friends.

Very nice Japanese experience - The course was great. It was a first for us and we loved it. The teacher is very kind, despite not always easy communication we managed to understand each other. Very nice immersion in Japanese culture to do without hesitation.

Great archery experience, lots of history shared during the class - We had an amazing time learning true Japanese Ninja archery. We had the opportunity to wear archery uniforms, learn about deer skin gloves, and the different bows used by ninjas vs samurai. We received step by step instructions for shooting arrows. It was overall a great class, highly educational.

Great Activity - Loved our time at archery today. Great instructor, we speak little Japanese but he had a great translation app, so we fully understood everything. I would recommend this as it’s something different to try.

Fantastic experience - It was such a fun experience. The teacher was very kind and answered all of our questions. After learning we got to shoot some practice arrows and then we had a little competition among family. I would recommend this fun activity to anyone who is interested.

Great experience in Hiroshima! - All in all it was really worth the money. Not just that we had a lot of fun and could improve ourselves in our archery skills, the host also told us a lot about the history of traditional Japanese archery. :)

Very good experience ! I 110% recommend it ! - I had a really great time there ! The person explained us a lot of things, it was very interresting and of course fun ! I really recommend it ! And it's very cheap for the quality of time ! He also gave us good recommendations for where to spent the days left 🌸 If you first think it might be easy, try and see by yourself how difficult it is ! ありがとうございます!

Small but nice - Anyone who has never really shot a bow before or is interested in the traditional Japanese way of shooting a bow will get their money's worth here. The traditional grip technique is explained and instructed in detail, and the optional wearing of traditional clothing allows for some nice pictures of the experience. Shooting takes place until the time is up. The rooms seem a bit small at first, but are perfectly adequate and contribute to a private experience. All in all, the price/performance ratio was very good, but I would have liked a little more background information on traditional archery.
