A full day adventure on bikes, boats, and trains at two of Japan’s must-see destinations. Starting the day on two wheels, experience a thought-provoking and sensitive commentary on the history of Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park and Castle. From here, take a local train and ferry to Miyajima Island, where you can enjoy the contrast between with the stunning Shinto buildings and lush greenery of the island. Once on the island, you will learn about the culture of the island, explore the sites with your guide, greet the local deer, enjoy a regional lunch (vegetarian options are available but for other dietary requirements please get in touch), and discover the famous Itsukushima Shrine. Return to Hiroshima City in the manner you arrived and get evening recommendations from your neighbourhood guide.

A great way to see a lot of Hiroshima and the island and learn the history. Thank you Alex - Alex was a very friendly and easy going guide. He has a great knowledge of Hiroshima and the trip to the island and the temples was fascinating. We learned a lot from him and had a lot of fun. It was a great day finishing at the Atomic bomb site and he showed us some things around the site we would have never found on our own.

Fun packed day with lots of culture and knowledge. - Be ready for the best experience to see both Hiroshima & Miyajima. By bike and walking you get to savour the true culture, our guide Aimee was both witty and knowledgeable. Fortunately my husband & I were the only two on the tour and it was like going on a day out with your best friend.
Despite rain first thing and at the end none of this made the experience any less memorable.
Would totally recommend, best way of seeing both areas when short on time.

A most wonderful day - We really enjoyed this tour, and we had a most wonderful day with Aimee. Our bikes were in very good condition, and we had a great range to choose from as well. Amiee was full of information, and nothing was too much trouble. We had many great laughs during the day and really enjoyed Miyajima Island as well as the many famous sites in Hiroshima. Even though it was hot Aimee made sure we were well hydrated, and she set a gentle pace for us all as well. We would recommend Amiee and this wonderful tour.

It was a dynamic day of exploration, learning and reflection. - Amazing experience! Ishan was an absolute expert on all things related to Hiroshima and provided broader context from a Japanese historical and cultural perspective. He went above and beyond to ensure all his guests were able to explore and learn throughout the tour. Regardless of your level of historical knowledge, you will leave this tour with a new perspective and better understanding of Hiroshima past and present.

A great day out - A great day out learning the history and visiting many shrines, temples and war sites. Lunch was tasty too. And the iced water is a nice touch!

Cycling through history - We had a great day with Aimee cycling around Hiroshima. She was very flexible with the schedule so as to accommodate our needs. It was hot and humid, but Aimee made sure we took breaks and stayed hydrated. I would highly recommend this activity for those who like to combine being active with being educated!

Excellent bike tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima - Aimee (with Cycle Hiroshima) was wonderful. She was very informative and has great insight into the history and culture. It was an active day, with some wonderful food stops along the way. Would recommend to anyone who is interested.

The places were very nice and the experience beautiful - The experience was very nice, the places we visited also very good, the bikes worked perfect but the guide was not very good about what he explained to us, things that we all already knew and most of the participants in our group thought he was un respectful with Japanese traditions

Overlong Tour That Missed the Point - We spent most of the 'bike tour' walking on Miyajima Island, which was beautiful but took up far too much time. Lunch dragged on and the tour ended up lasting 10 hours instead of the proposed 6–8. By the time we got back to Hiroshima, it was sunset, so we rushed through the castle and Peace Memorial Park as it was getting dark — exactly the part of the tour most people come for.
Our guide, Sage, was kind and knowledgeable but she avoided deeper discussion of Hiroshima’s wartime history and frequently described WWII as “icky stuff,” which felt dismissive for a group of adults. This was more of a walking tour than biking, and while I know others had better guides, I wouldn’t recommend our version unless your main interest is Miyajima rather than Hiroshima itself.
