Vagabond Cruise - Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse.

The Tammy Jane is also available for private charters for up to 30-passengers. If you would like more information about this opportunity please reach out to Vagabond Cruise directly.

Hop aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour enlightening and scenic journey into the heart of the low-country shrimping experience! We’ll expose you to the thriving salt marsh ecosystem and acquaint you with the variety of marine life we secure in our nets (including shrimp!).

Together, we’ll delve into the interconnected webs of multiple ecosystems that create the bountiful food chain we rely on for sustenance.

This is an exclusive experience, ideal for curious minds of all ages! Should we be successful in catching shrimp during our voyage, the crew will neatly package some for guests to carry back home.

Dress comfortably, wear sunscreen on sunny days
There is an area for shade, but the Tammy Jane is an open-aired vessel
You can choose to participate in sorting through the days catch

The Tammy Jane departs from below the lighthouse in Harbour Town Yacht Basin. The check-in location is just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office.

Margaritaville goes Shrimping!!! - It was cold - but we had the most incredible time! Lucy was the absolute best and made our experience. Of course the rest of the crew was great too! Looking forward to doing it again in warmer weather! Thank you!

What I always wanted to know about shrimp and shrimping. - Excellent - good way to spend a morning. Informative, educational. Outstanding crew. (Remember to bring some cash - to provide adequate tipping!)

Put on list if visiting Harbor Town - Very cool trip for my wife and I. Captain and crew (Alyssa and Wyatt) were pleasant, funny and knowledgeable. Interesting to learn about shrimping industry past and present. We definitely recommend this as an excursion worth taking. Include this if you have a day planned at Harbor Town.

Wow! So much fun. - This trip was soooo much fun! We didn't catch a lot of shrimp, but the whole process was so great. The staff were great. The watching of how they laid the nets was fun. Looking at the catch after the nets were pulled up was fun. The staff explained what each fish or animal was. If safe, they even let us hold and touch. If poisonous, they explained and threw back. The seagulls were even polite...not entering the boat, but just hovering close enough outside so that we were able to get some great pictures. Would highly recommend.

Great trip for young children. - I was disappointed by the seating on the boat (coolers) and the amount of people in the group. We had to sit away from the main group at the front of the boat to keep my party of four together. It was lots of fun for the little ones who enjoyed the variety of sea life that was pulled into the boat. But I was hoping for some background on the industry of shrimping in South Carolina, maybe some music during the long time the net was in the water or some history on the Hilton Head area. This should be sold as a trip for families with young children, they all seemed to love it.
