Surfing is more than just a sport, it’s an entire way of life. It’s not the same as games like bowling, tennis, or ice-skating. Surfing stands out uniquely among most other sports. It involves an intense interaction with nature, where we’re engulfed by the sea, composed of nearly all water inside and completely surrounded by water outside. We are in a state of equilibrium, physically and mentally. We tune into the vast energy of the ocean for our enjoyment, indifferent to whether the weather is sunny or raining. Afterward, when we return to the shore, we have a sense of belonging and yet, feel a part of us is still left behind in the ocean.
