Excellent experience - The Higuey Cultural Tour from Punta Cana was very educational. The guide Antonio was knowledgable, kind, and provided a wonderful experience. Elvis our driver was very safe. The tour was as advertised. We highly recommend this tour if you are interested in learning about the culture of the Dominican Republic. It was a highlight of our vacation.

Simply Incredible! - Booked this when we were staying at the Excellence in Punta Cana. Our driver was Victor & our tour guide was Antonio. Both were amazing!! I can't say enough wonderful things about our "cultural" tour. We have even looked at coming back in the future to bring our children to Punta Cana. Everything about this excursion was AWESOME!! Thank you so much!

Fantastic day trip to Higuey - This trip was incredible, and it was short only lasting 5 hours from start to finish, so we didn't feel like we lost a whole day of sun. The trip starts with a visit to a museum where you learn about the impressive church then you tour two churches. I went to school and studied religion so I loved this part. Next you go to a local market where you really get to see what it's like to live in Higuey. The last stop is a cigar factory where you can buy hand rolled cigars and see how they're made. Just a great day, our guides were Manuel and Juan and they were fantasic, always had answers to questions and were so nice. Our tour was run in 3 languages and it didn't seem like anyone felt left out. Would recommend to anyone wanting to see Higuey

This tour was a wonderful cultural... -
This tour was a wonderful cultural experience about life in the Dominican Republic, as narrated by our wonderful tour guide. He pointed out places of interest and gave geographical and historical information to us as we drove along the countryside to each stop on the tour. The visit to the Cocoa Farm and churches were both informative and meaningful delivered by the locals. Our tour guide, photographer and driver were very friendly, professional and seem to love their jobs. Our large group of ten were impressed with the church tours and learned the history of these from the perspective of the locals. The moved us along in an orderly, but unhurried fashion, and even allowed us to enjoy a short shopping trip. I highly recommend this tour and know you will enjoy every minute of it.

Very nice - The first half of the tour is not that interesting if your not that interested in religion since we visite a pope/religious museum, but the rest is great! Walked in a cathedrale and an old church, we get to walk in the town and market of hiey and have the dominican view on life, and also visited a cigar factory!!

The tour guide and the driver were... -
The tour guide and the driver were great. The tour guide was very knowledge and showed us a wonderful pat of Punta Cana. The family we visited was also wonderful. The churches were amazing. My only suggestion is to have the Church tours shorter. By the time you see them we were very tired.

A good way to get off resort, time in the town was too short. - I took this tour while in Punta Cana for a wedding. To start off, they were 20 minutes late picking me up due to “picking up other passengers” - I was the first person on the bus... The guide was very knowledgeable about the churches and the farm we visited. The farm had lots of gorgeous plants and it was great learning about the different food they grow, and the process to make coconut oil. It appears to have been someone’s actual current home though, which seemed exploitative. The actual time spent walking through the city of Higuey and through the market was very rushed - no time to browse, stop to take photos, etc. We were taken to a typical Dominican lunch spot that the tour guide liked - it was clear that he was friends with the people there, so I am guessing it’s a business deal - and the food was terrible and cold, but cheap ($2). During this time the tour guide took off on the back of a motorcycle and left us alone at the restaurant waiting to leave! He came back later without apology or explanation. The bus driver also disappeared around lunch time, without letting us know we would be without transportation. Overall I appreciated getting off the resort, but I would have liked some time to really explore the town, walk around, take photos. The tours of the churches were well done, although we were passed off and told to tip another guide at the cathedral (who didn’t speak English or provide info during our visit). I don’t think the tour is executed well, but it was cheap, and still allowed a brief look into life in the Dominicans Republic.

Cancellation due to "lack of quorum" - Booked through Viator and was supposed to go on this tour May 16th.....get a cancellation email at 6:30 the night before saying the tour has been cancelled due to a lack of quorum. Left a very bad taste in our mouth since we were only there for 5 days and this late notice left us scrambling to find something to fill the vacancy....what was really irritating is that we called at 9am the morning of the 15th to confirm our pickup and were given a 7:30am pickup time with no warning about a possible cancellation...very unprofessional in my opinion
