A mere 30-minute journey from the city center, the Pentlands provide breathtaking views of Edinburgh, the Lothians, the Borders, Fife, and even the Highlands.
The hike will lead to the peak of the tallest hill in the Pentlands’ front range, standing at 493 meters (1617 feet). This excursion will last between 3 to 3.5 hours, covering 7-8 kilometers (4-5 miles) with an elevation gain of 300-350 meters (980-1150 feet).
Participants can opt for either a morning or sunset hike.
This experience is ideal for both novice and seasoned hikers, though a good fitness level is necessary to manage the uphill and downhill terrain throughout the hike.
The group will move at a comfortable pace, with breaks for photography, rest, and refreshments.
Appropriate footwear, warm clothing, and waterproof gear are essential. The Scottish weather is unpredictable, and strong winds are common in the hills.
