Best experience in Scotland so far - Booked this event through Tripmasters when I was planning our trip to Scotland and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. We went early, were greeted by Charlie, went in took a look around and they were packed!! Nice and cozy but not your typical pub, it felt like you were invited to your best friend's home to sit around by the fire, sip some whiskey, tell some stories and be serenaded by an amazing superstar named David. We were treated and thoroughly felt like family, enjoying amazing Whiskeys from the region, stories of Scotland and song. Charlie has a wealth of knowledge of drink and David has the same of song and history of The Highlands. They are a terrific pairing for an amazing evening if you are traveling to Inverness, Scotland. It has been the best night of our trip so far and it will be hard to beat. Thank you for an excellent experience Charlie and David and the MALT ROOM Desiree and Scott Barrett

The Best Night learning about whisky and Scottish music - We stopped in Thursday day and spoke with Olivia at the bar. So friendly, warm and welcoming. Luckily for us there was room for us at the whisky tasting that evening. It was an incredible fun night! We learned not only about Scottish Whisky, but also about some Scottish music. Charlie explained the tastings and David told fun stories and described the songs he would perform. Both were amazing and no doubt the most fun way to learn about different whiskies. With Charlie's help that night, we figured out which whisky we wanted to purchase and went to the liquor store across the street from the Malt Room They were very reasonable and helpful and kind. I recommend both!

Fun night with the whisky - Really fun evening. Good whiskies and music. There were eight of us in the room, so we got to interact a lot.

Outstanding - If you like whisky, this is the place to go. We stumbled across it on a narrow side street just before entering the Victorian Market. It's a small place, so go early to get a seat. The whisky selection was terribly impressive, and for those travel partners not into whisky, there are other liquid delights. The Malt Room offers various whisky flights, and the staff was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we went the next afternoon, as well.

Fabulous Malt room gig experience - What a fabulous evening. We’ve visited the Malt rooms before and tried their whisky flights, and such good luck we were in town for the first Malt room gig of the season. Would thoroughly recommend, great entertainment and singing, plus whisky facts and Scottish history thrown in. Such a great experience. Well worth the ticket price.

Expensive but absolutely worth it - Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time here sampling a few drams and cocktails for our anniversary. Our bartender Nick was very friendly and knowledgeable, and helped me pick out 3 different drams all tailored to my tastes, and all absolutely fantastic, among the best I’ve ever had. The cocktails were great too, you can get an old fashioned with any whisky you want, in our case a Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask which was top tier. My only word of warning is that this venue is not cheap, and you can quickly find yourself with some really premium stuff in the glass! While some places may not dare give you anything remotely “expensive” when asked for a recommendation, here it felt quite natural to end up a bit higher on the scale. It could be down to the average clientele of the bar, or it may have just been the mood we were in which invited more expensive suggestions, but I did end up spending more on singles than I ever have before (£16 for a Glencadam 17 Reserva de Porto). That is not a criticism as it truly felt like a special occasion, and we were introduced to some incredible whisky, but it is something worth noting to avoid an awkward situation if you are more price sensitive. Overall it was a special evening and I’d love to come back sometime, highly recommended!

Comprehensive Tasting - Excellent introduction to wiskey. Most places offer you one sample to taste - here, they offer three (highland, Speyside, and malted) and walk you through what makes them different. Presenter was polished although I think he was a bit unclear on some technical details. Venue is great except that the dark stairs are hard to navigate after coming in on a sunny day. But still the best wiskey tasting I've experienced.
