Visit Flora MacDonald’s statue outside the castle and see the shops and cafes in Inverness. Maybe try a local beer in the oldest bar in Inverness, the Gellions, dating back to 1841.\n\nUnfortunately only photos until 2024 as vast he is clouded for complete renovation.

Our tour commences anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours following the ship’s arrival.
We offer the tour in a luxurious 4-seater car or a plush 9-seater minivan, and assure you of a personal touch from our amiable and professional guides.
German guests, we occasionally have a German-speaking guide available, but typically our tours are conducted in English.

If you dock directly in Invergordon port, please walk from ship to the port gates at the west harbour, cross road and our tour guides wearing purple will greet you and send you to our bus, quite close by. 2-5 minutes walk.

Thistle Excursios trip to Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness Museum and Urquhart Castle. - excursion. From Thistle Excursions took us to Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness Museum and Urquhart Castle remains. We had ample time at each place. She is very knowledgeable about the area and we enjoyed the excursion.

Excellent - Our guides were knowledgeable, personable and accommodating.
We were given the time and information to explore the sights.
A stop at a local family farm stand with hairy coos to see up close was a highlight.

Great Tour - Loraine was fabulous, very informative and made sure the drive was through scenic areas and she took time to stop to see the hairy coos and was very engaged. She made sure that we made our ship with time to spare.

Worth visiting - Really fun tour that didn’t take all day. We took a bus tour that took us to a boat tour then to the castle. The bus tour resumed after the castle tour. It was really comfortable and interesting

Wonderful excursion - perfect day! - What a fantastic experience! The itinerary was better than I could have expected, and our tour guide was so knowledgeable and interesting and involved.... From Culloden to Urquhart Castle to Inverness - it was so scenic and beautiful and interesting. And we could have not lucked out with better weather in September! And seeing so many highland cows and alpacas was an added bonus!! Highly recommend!!

Urquhart Castle & Loch Ness - The ruins of the castle are located on the shore of Loch Ness. We were lucky to have nice weather, but we didn't see Nessy :-) There is also a trebuchet in the area of the ruins of Urquhart Castle.

Booked Van Got Bus - Disappointed that we booked a 6-8 person van to limit contact due to immunocompromised traveler and were told upon our arrival that we were now booked on a 45+ bus. We could have booked a private driver for same price at port but due to Viator’s cancellation policy, we could not cancel. The attractions were agreeable and delivered as promised per description of tour. If one has booked a tour for 6-8 people then the company should have courtesy to notify customer in advance of changes.
