Additional Information

Join Cath, a native and skilled tour guide for a captivating stroll around her beloved city of Inverness. Experience an array of local historical insights, spectacular landscapes, architectural gems, and evocative (albeit occasionally grisly) narratives that have incrementally fashioned Inverness into the bustling metropolis it is today.

In the genuine ethos of Outlander, delve into the brief yet decisive clash of the Jacobite Rising, The Battle of Culloden in 1746, where the destinies of approximately 1500 Jacobites were determined by ill judgment and unfriendly landscape. Cath will enthrall you with allusions to Outlander as well as tales of life in 18th century Inverness extending to contemporary times. She will also impart stories of clan history, mythology, and legend. Travel even further into the past to 565 AD and discover the tale of St Columba’s tourist to the Highlands.

A really tasty tour. - Cath has launched a food tour which is great news for anyone visiting the highland capital. We had been on her walking tour before but her food tour was a completely different experience. With a small group we visited bakers, a distillery, two pubs a deli and an ice cream parlour. All were fantastic and showed us some great places to eat. But for me the highlight was the experience of being out with friendly folk enjoying each others company as we learned about the history of Inverness.

Superb walking tour! - Cath’s tour was informative, entertaining and included some interesting gems too! The timing and distance were ideal for a blustery day in March, and Cath knew where to stop to keep us sheltered from the wind. The breadth of information Cath shared was exceptional, with details of historic and contemporary Inverness combined to add to my existing knowledge of the city. So many interesting tidbits! Can’t wait until Cath’s food and drink tours begin - will be signing up for that too!

A 'MUST DO' Tour if you're in Inverness - We did the walking Tour round Inverness with Cath, This Lady is one hell of Guide, a font of local knowledge, a master storyteller... with ease she managed to talk us through centuries of history, culture and folklore about Inverness. This is the first thing any visitor to Inverness should do, you won't regret it and we will be recommending this walking tour to all. Thank you Cath!

Walk & Talk About Inverness - My friend who originally didn't want to join and planned to bow out, went ahead with the walking tour group led by guide Cath, and had a wonderful time! (as did I) Cath combined stories with historical facts, offered interesting tidbits of information, and managed to summarize the Battle of Culloden. We all laughed at the Outlander fan who left a love letter to Jamie Fraser at old St. Stephen's Church. The tour was also the right length (about 90 minutes), mostly flat, so perfect for 2 seniors.

Great Tour - I am a tour guide in the US so I have high standards when I take a tour. Cath did not disappoint. I did a private 2 hour tour and had a great time. We covered a lot of ground and she had great stories at every stop. Cath is very knowledgeable about Inverness and I learned a lot from her. Since I was by myself, she was nice enough to take some pictures of me at a few scenic places. We also had fun sharing tour guide stories. I highly recommend Cath's tour.
