Highlights
  • Cawdor Castle - You will be presented with an audio guide, which provides an informative and entertaining tour of this spectacular castle, which dates back to at least 1454. From the 16th Century portrait gallery in the drawing room, to the 17th Century Flemish tapestries in one of the bedrooms, every room features fine art and antique furniture, and there are stories behind every piece. After you have completed the tour you will have time to enjoy the varied gardens. There is also a cafe and a couple of gift shops here. Entrance to Cawdor Castle is included in the tour price.
  • Culloden Battlefield - Our final stop is at Culloden Battlefield, one of the most important battlefields in the UK. Here, your guide will bring the landscape to life on a 30-minute walking tour, as he enthralls you with the story of the last pitched battle on British soil; the Jacobite uprising of 1746.
  • Clava Cairns - Clava Cairns is a well-preserved group of prehistoric burial cairns which were built around 4000 years ago. This Bronze Age cemetery has a wide range of interesting historical structures to explore such as passage graves, ring cairns, a curb cairn, and standing stones. For Outlander fans, this is a must-see stop!
  • Scottish Highlands - We take the roads-less-travelled to show you some of the spectacular scenery the Scottish Highlands is famous for.
  • Loch Ness - Our next stop is Dores Beach, on the south side of Loch Ness, where the view was recently voted one of the tops in the UK! You will have some time to take a stroll on the beach, or perhaps you would like to purchase a unique Nessie souvenir from the resident monster hunter, Steve Feltham. There is also a cozy Scottish pub on the shores of the Ness, where you may wish to sample a local beer or whisky.
  • Inverness - With its fascinating history, location on the River Ness, a plethora of characterful pubs, and Scottish shops, there is something for everyone here.

Day excursion Inverness, Scottish highlands, Loch ness - We enjoyed our WOW day excursion. So much beauty to see. Our guide, ROB, dressed in a real kilt, told us a lot about the history of Scotland and its clans, about Cawdor Castle, the Culloden battlefield, the old cemetery and of course Loch Ness, where we were treated to real Scottish Whiskey. He is also a very skilled driver. Everything was told clearly with room for a joke every now and then. We are very satisfied with our day.

Fabulous fast-paced tour from Invergordon - Andrew was our driver guide and he was outstanding. He shared information about Scottish history, mainly the “Braveheart” story and that of the Jacobite battles of 1745-46. The tour itself took us to Cawdor Castle which was very interesting, Clava Cairns for some Neolithic history, Culloden Battlefield which was sobering, Loch Ness (no Nessie), and Inverness. Fast paced tour. Andrew packed in a lot of history, information, and humor in a short period of time.

Great Day and Tour. - Did a day tour from the cruise ship. Andrew was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history and sites we saw. I feel the time at each site was sufficient. He told the history of Scotland and wars in 4 parts while riding between sites. My whole group thought the whole day was well worth the time and price. Highly recommend this tour and company.

The best tour, without a doubt!! - Impossible better tour, our guide Andrew picked us up at the port, in a new minibus, dressed in his kilt. He livened up the tour by telling us interesting history and anecdotes about Scotland, very knowledgeable. We visited very beautiful places, meeting schedules, but without stress or rush, very punctual and pleasant, we did not waste time since everything was very well organized. Without a doubt, I recommend it!!!!!

Best Tour of the Highlands - This was my favorite day of my British Isles cruise. Andrew took us to so many great places without making our tour rushed at all. His narrative of Scottish history was entertaining and informative. I booked this tour well in advance, and I am so happy that I did. WOW Scotland is very well organized and professional, really a pleasure to work with.
