A relaxed and flexible way to see Hoi An - Our 'local' (Robert) showed us around the ancient town, sharing interesting information along the way. We visited a number of historical landmarks and stopped for some delicious black sesame soup! He was very flexible, working around thr sights we had already seen, which was much appreciated!

Very enjoyable ! - A very pleasant morning wandering through the old town with Thuy (Phoebe). I was shown various locations, dwellings, and local produce including a well that has been used by local people since the 10th century. I also had the opportunity to make and eat a ‘white rose dumpling’ although it ended up looking like a scrunched-up tissue haha. Phoebe’s English is very good. At each location she was able to explain the history in a way that was easy to understand, and she was able to answer all the questions I had. I enjoyed this tour a lot!

Amazing local tour of Hoi An - I signed up for a half day tour on Nov 23, 2016. I used the With Locals website to book my tour and Thanh Le was very accommodating to my schedule. The tour was 5 hours long and led by a wonderful guide, Hien. She was so interesting and knowledgeable, not only about the local area but we learned a lot about Vietnamese history, politics and economics as well. It was a beautiful tour, through back roads, rice paddies and the jungle. We saw rice paper being produced and even got to try making it ourselves, the vegetable growing area, a really huge and interesting cemetery, and lots more, and even had a nice break for iced Vietnamese coffee. I highly recommend this tour company to anyone interested in doing something off the beaten path in Hoi An (Note - I did this tour in 2016 when there was no Corona virus so the Covid-related questions below were not relevant)
