Upon your arrival, you will be served a fresh and delicious fruit juice, a typical Vietnamese fruit-based drink. While you enjoy your tasty drink, It will be the opportunity to learn about the Vietnamese countryside life and meet Grandma.
From here, we will go to my family’s home where you will begin your cooking lesson. Learn how the rice paper, used in the flavorful fried eggroll is prepared and how to prepare several typical succulent dishes of this authentic region:
-Banh Xeo (small rice flour crepes) a specialty of Hoi An.
-Grilled, marinated pork brochettes with a special sauce.
-Green papaya salad
-Fish prepared according to a local recipe.

Vegetarian menu on request: Banh Xeo, Eggplant grilled, Green papaya salad, Mushroom, and tofu clay pot.
Once this tasty meal has been prepared, we will enjoy the meal in my grandmother’s garden. You will also be served pumpkin soup and “Xí Mà“ a delicious dessert (black sesame pudding).
We will return to Hoi An by boat.

Must do tour in Hoi An - We had the best day on this tour and we can’t thank Na enough, she was just fabulous. We learnt so much about Hoi An and the Vietnamese culture. The boat ride meant we got to see the river and parts of Hoi An we would not have seen otherwise. The cooking class was both fun and educational and the food we made was delicious and plentiful. This is a must do if you are going to Hoi An.

Great Tour - An excellent tour. The market visit at the start was very informative. The boat trip to the island village is interesting and nice to see the different way of live. The cooking lesson was really good. She took her time explaining and making sure we were all OK.

Awesome family cooking class experience! - We had such a great time—fun, hands-on, and super tasty! The boat ride to the family’s home set the scene, and we loved learning how to make rice milk and rolls….amongst the several other delish dishes we made. Even our 9 year-old was totally into it. Just a heads-up for allergy folks: they do their best, but you’ll need to double-check ingredients. Otherwise, couldn’t recommend it more!

No os lo podéis perder!!! You have to go!! - My Grandma's Home Cooking, si váis a Vietnam y visitáis Hoi An no podéis perderos esta increíble experiencia.
No solamente el desplazamiento en barco hasta la pequeña aldea, la clase de cocina, en la que aprendimos a elaborar unos platos tradicionales, la amabilidad de la nieta, su tía y todo el personal.
No olvidaremos este día. Gracias
It was an amazing experience and I highly recomend to take de cooking class. The people was very friendly and we had a great day with them. Thank you for sharing with us your traditions, to open your house and to teach us how to make this delicious dishes, I will not forget the Mango juice and all of you!!!

Grandma's Home Cooking - Delicious! - This was a great experience and combined learning about the local river and island communities during the boat ride, traditional cooking methods demonstrated, and then actually cooking 4 different dishes and getting to eat them. All while hearing about Grandma, her recipes, and family. Her granddaughter was our guide/instructor and made us very welcome to her Grandma's home!
Note: It all came out delicious but we couldn't finish because it was so much food! 😋😋

Great food and fun! - Our family of 4 (2 adults, 13 and 10 yo) had a wonderful day with Tom and her Aunties at their island village. The food was delicious, and the pace was relaxed with informative conversations about village life along the way. Highly recommended!

Fun and Tasty Experience - A wonderful and tasty experience, highly recommend if you have a spare day in Hoi An. Thom and team were attentive and explained everything clearly. Hope to try some of the recipes myself when I get back home!

Excellent Experience with Authentic Vietnamese Cooking - While staying in Hoi An, my wife, our adult daughter, and I participated in a Vietnamese cooking class with Heaven on Earth's "My Grandma's Home Cooking." The adventure began with a 45-minute boat ride to a nearby island inhabited by locals, where we received insightful explanations about the surroundings and culture.
The cooking class took place in a beautifully serene and authentic open-air shack. It was a fun and educational experience, where we learned a lot about traditional ingredients and their preparation. Our group consisted of about 10 adults, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We had hands-on lessons in making rice paper, papaya salad, traditional rolls, chicken or pork dishes (with vegetarian options), and fish. The instructor was top-notch, and we were provided with coffee and tea during the class.
At the end of the session, we all sat together to enjoy the delicious lunch we had prepared. The logistics and organization were impeccable, and we highly recommend this experience. To demonstrate how much we enjoyed it, we booked a bicycle tour through the villages with the same company for the next day, which was also a great experience.

Not to be missed - Fantastic I don't usually do these courses but this was an experience not to be missed a short trip up the river and really friendly staff our guide ...Thom was brilliant the food was cooked perfectly....by m ha ha
