Highlights
- Ecotourism destinations - This morning you will spend your day in a Farming & Fishing Life Tour which provides you with a close-up and intimate exposure to both the local farming and fishing communities. Accompanied by your tour guide, you will start the day cycling slowly along country roads and witnessing local Vietnamese rural life first hand and where you will have many photo opportunities. Then you will visit a beautiful organic vegetable village, where you will help watering and planting vegetable, hoeing the soil with a local farmer and seeing a water buffalo in a rice paddy field. The photo opportunities are endless. Later you will board our eco-tour boat for a river cruise to meet and engage with local fishermen and enjoy a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. You will also experience paddling the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boat along the waterways of coconut palm paradise. This tour provides you with a cultural window into the ways of life of both Vietnamese farming and fishing communities. When the tour finishes, you will be taken back to the hotel where you will have free time at leisure.

Welcome to Hoi An Eco Tourism Company, an Eco-Tour venture operated by our agriculture-oriented family, based out of Hoi An’s Cam Thanh Village. Having inhabited and worked in this area for multiple generations, we have a deep-rooted affection for it. Our purpose is to present you with a unique perspective, an intimate look into the traditional daily life of this village’s fishing and farming communities.
Participate in our tours and you’ll have the opportunity to engage in enjoyable and safe hands-on activities which are cultural practices carried out by locals of all ages.
Our tours offer a genuine bond with locals, their customs, the surrounding environment, and most importantly, Vietnamese rural culture, enhancing your travel experience. We intend to make you feel, even if for a short period, like a true resident of the village, savouring the typical tranquility and peacefulness of countryside life, a perfect antidote to fast-paced city living.
We conduct tours for a minimum requirement of two participants.

We did visit rice fields, vegetable fields and we did fish. - Beautiful day ! Very authentic day ! The guide is excellent : he is very kind, explanations about rice culture and fishing are very interesting.

Amazing guide and photographer who will ensure you have a good time and eat yummy food! - We had a fantastic experience with John. Not only was he an amazing and patient guide -with great sense of humor- but he took some of the best photos and videos we have of our trip so far. I was a bit hesitant about riding a bicycle through the fields but he made me feel very comfortable and made sure we were always safe in traffic. Cycling was definitely the best way to to experience the local life in the villages.
Lunch was incredibly tasty, we learned how to make some pancakes we later ate.

Wonderful Local Guide and Experience - Excellent tour. Well thought through. Mr Hoang did a great job introducing local farming and fishing to our family. Not just the adults but the children loved the experience too. We tried our hands at farming and fishing and also cooking too…

Simple but eye opening experience - The tour had 3 parts, comprising of a visit to the vegetable farm, rice farm and fishing experience in coconut boat. The fishing experience was great fun. A great excursion for a family with kids of all ages.

A must if you’re in Hoi An! - This tour is a must if you’re in Hoi An! Mr. Hoang and his family are extremely welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. My wife and I met Mr. Hoang at our hotel in Hoi An and started the tour biking through the surrounding rice fields. We first stopped at a garden where we learned about the local harvesting and helped plant and water vegetables in a beautiful garden. Afterwards we visited Mr. Hoang home where we learned of the traditional rice harvesting methods and made home-cooked Vietnamese pancakes along with a few other delicious traditional dishes. His wife and family are so kind and the food is exceptional. I highly recommend this tour. Mr. Hoang and his family are extremely accommodating and will make your visit to Hoi An all the more memorable!

AMAZING - Our guide Mr. Hoang was absolutely fantastic!!! He was so knowledgeable and it was incredibly enjoyable speaking with him about Vietnamese life. This was hands down one of the best tours my husband and I have ever been on. It was very well planned and organized and not gimmicky at all. Felt very authentic. I find that often times tours are our tourist trap to get people to spend money. This was not that. It was just fantastic. At the end of the day we were invited back to his home and met his wonderful family. His wife gave us a cooking lesson and helped us prepare some extra delicious foods. 10,000 out of 10! This is a must must do!! Thank you again Hoang!!

Great day-tour of Hoi An and the surrounding area - Our cruise ship was docked at Chan May port (09:00 to 17:00) and we had booked a tour of Hoi An and the surrounding rural area with Hoi An Eco Tourism. We had opted not to buy the port pickup permit, so we had to walk outside the port for pickup. It’s important to note that the first “Chan May Port” sign is still inside the port (some guides were waiting there), so you need to continue walking to actually get outside the port and find the other guides, without the port permit.
The tour was very well organized, and the guide spoke very good English. Despite our ship’s late arrival, everything went smooth and we got to see and experience so many things – farming activities, a buffalo ride, a basked boat tour and the city Hoi An. We also had a delicious lunch at our guides house.
We had a great day and would highly recommend this tour!
